This is probably Blue Sky's most forgotten film in their filmography. I wished they would've made a sequel to this instead of four Ice Age sequels. This film doesn't get enough credit. the designs are great, the jokes are funny and the characters are memorable. I also like the message, it works on multiple levels. no one should force you to change, you should makes electronics last rather than disposing of them to be replaced with a shinier model. and more insidious, the villains want to get rid of the poor so they can make a shiny city with beautiful people, and they do this by creating a system where the only choice is to have money for upgrades or to die and be recycled. this film ages very well.

7:56 I love how Rodney's mom's "hair" was all brown when he was a baby, but now that he's a young a adult, small parts of her "hair" have turned gray from either tarnish or a patina that developed over time on the metal. Either way, it's a VERY smart way to show her aging even though they can't really show age like humans can.

Also, I realized I only liked this vid and forgot to leave a comment, whoops. This movie has always been my favorite #1 childhood movie out of the entire studio. Don't get me wrong I like the other movies (Not so much with Epic. Still have not seen the Peanuts Movie). I have loved this movie to the point where I have a fictional crush on Rodney, no joke. Sadly I would have loved if the studio made a sequel or even a tv series. Also, since now I'm an adult I now understand all the adult jokes that I didn't get as a kid that were put in along with hidden details that I missed. Lastly, I still miss Robin Williams. R.I.P 2014. I don't know whether I'm thinking about it too hard, but the way Robot City is depicted, it kind of reminds me of the three layers of the afterlife. You have the upper portion of Robot City where things are great and pretty much paradise for those who live there, then there's the underbelly where Bender and his crew live, that being an in between where the lesser robot's dwell, then you have the underworld, the Chop Shop where robots basically go to die if they don't keep themselves up to date; a place ruled by an evil dictator who commands lots of deadly minions. Heaven, Limbo, and Hell
