When her motor's warm, and she's purrin' sweet Buddy let me warn ya', you're on a one-way street She'll crowd ya' close, spin your wheels Then you're gonna know how it feels To spinout, yeah Spinout Better watch those curves, never let her steer If she can shake your nerves, boy Then she can strip your gears She'll get your hard, and goin' fast Then she'll let you run out of gas So spinout, yeah Spinout A road to love is full of, danger signs Too many guys were lost Who crossed those double lines A-don't you know she's out to prove, she can really score Never saw parts move boy, like that before To flag you down, that's her goal Scoot before you lose control And spinout, yeah Spinout A road to love is full of, danger signs Too many guys were lost who crossed those double lines A-don't you know she's out to prove, she can really score Never saw parts move boy, like that before To flag you down, mmh-that's her goal Scoot before you lose control And spinout, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey Spinout, let me hear you spinout Alright

Have you noticed there is not a single color girl dancing in this or any other movies when Elvis is performing? Probably because the 60's dancing was extremely goofy😄 Plus the musician in all of these movies are just miming or pretending to play their instrument while the backing track plays.

Elvis stars in another formulaic, very lightweight, fluffy film, where the acting and dance routines can only be described as third rate! Elvis for the umpteenth time is seen crooning and gyrating to a bevy of beautiful young women, something which had become a tedious spectacle and frankly a massive bore! While the younger generation by 1965 were listening to a more vibrant and socially ‘edgy’ type of music, and watching films that reflected more social realism, Elvis’s films were stuck in a time warp. This type of film traded on Elvis’s name for box office takings! But even the most ardent Elvis fans would have been seriously disappointed by this offering.

@SCOTT WATSON By 1965, teenage audiences were listening to a more exciting and lively genre of dance music. Watching Elvis crooning a string of mediocre dull songs in third rate, corny films, churned out with alarming regularity consigned him to the ‘has been’ pop star. In the U.K. the James Bond spy films, despite the fact that the storylines were far fetched, captured the new mood of fun and thrills demanded by the public, whereas Elvis films were frankly sleep inducing. Furthermore the pop music of the mid 1960’s were listening to British pop groups and other new waves of music, such as ‘Tamla Motown.’ By 1965, ‘Harum Scarum’ was evidence of the depths to which his film career had sunk. For several more years, Elvis would hang around, hoping to improve his Hollywood image. Unfortunately, successive films proved to be a massive yawn. Yes, they made huge sums of money, but young people had stopped going to watch a musical genre of Elvis films which offered poor acting, absurd storylines and excruciating dialogue. In the mid 1960’s Elvis was still a huge name in show business but it was a name that traded on his 50’s record successes. The pop charts reflected the decline of Elvis with the teenage audience. His big hit in 1965 ‘Crying in the Chapel’ was the slow moving, maudlin ballad, originally recorded in 1960. It was a joyless and dull song, which merely cemented the image of Elvis as someone who had moved away completely from the young rebel who set audiences alight with a string of dynamic and electrifying records. Trust me, the disco scene of 1965, was not listening to Elvis records. Yes, his films in terms of box office, were commercial successes, but by 1965, the majority of young people were going to see more ‘cutting edge’ films which challenged the status quo. Sadly Elvis had become the status quo, he was part of the old 50’s establishment of pop music. What had gone wrong with Elvis’s film career? To Colonel Parker, Elvis was a carnival concession. He was getting million dollar offers to keep at the same old formula junk and since Parker had no idea how good films were made he kept agreeing to the deals while the money was there. Harum Scarum shows the formula at its most derivative. Elvis himself looked bored and distracted at times on screen and even looked as if he was saying his lines while under sedation. The bulk of the songs are strictly for the Pat Boone set and badly out of date before the movie even came out. At a time of rapid change and great excitement in the music world (the Beatles made HELP around the same time) the music in Elvis' films did not evolve or change, it just got recycled.
