Thank you. That's one of the best scenes ever. I think it was truly Elbis, not just him acting as the character in the movie. It feels like you could picture him really doing this. The frustration of almost wrecking his car. Then she telks him he's wet, when he isn't yet. The whole scenecis just funny.

But not back then. Maybe $12k, new? The 289 Cobra's were $5000 in 1964. (or was it $5999? I still have a price sheet from that year, somewhere). The 427's were about $12k. And killed a lot of doctors! I wonder how much more that Ferrari is worth because it was in the movie? If it is still around...

I think the Ferrari was a "turn key" car back then as well. No charge assist, no engine out overhauls every 3000 miles, no sheets of plywood to get it in and out of the driveway. Shelly Fabares could have driven it to the hair dresser. I guess the trick was getting them to sell you one.
