Thanks so much for this. Very cool to see, how it looks from "guitarist perspective". What's the black strat Tim's playing? Is it Xotic?

Maybe the most important lesson I took from this video is the least obvious: Notice the reactions to Tim as he walks along, greeting these legends these legends. "I love you Tim!" An indispensable nonmusical skill to being a successful studio musician is being a nice guy. You always get called for sessions because people want to work with people they like! In ever video Tim makes, he is having at least as much fun as any viewer I can imagine.
@sirtogii52163 ай бұрын
Goes for most walks in life. There may be better coders, more numerical accountants, more intelligent managers but if you have social skills you're going to be more successful. Having watched Tim in countless interviews it's clear he's a genuine nice guy and very easy to work with.
@CenterThePendulum3 ай бұрын
Makes for a good life. Unfortunately the world also has a way of rewarding blind hubris and narcissism financially and with fame, especially in entertainment. As long was we support the people we want to see succeed across positive traits they get the love they earned.
@sirtogii52163 ай бұрын
@@CenterThePendulum Those traits are (unfortunately) also required for innovation and development but I know the reasons why I'm doing Tim's Masterclass and nobody elses 🙂
@joesatchton2123 ай бұрын
As others have also said: just don't be a DIKK in any walk of life. Just be a decent, human being, which for so many people these days is so pathetically difficult, even moreso than being a professional and highly competent at whatever activity it is you are doing with other people. Well-said all the same. Problem is that people like you are NOT the ones who need this simple yet oh-so-critical reminder...

Not just knowing all these chords, sight reading, and knowing when to bring a part forward and not play "over" the other musicians is why this is PRO level work. Most guitarists can learn to "shred" with enough repetition and practice, but this is musicianship.

How is it possible, after watching so many of Tim's videos and taking his class, that he never ceases to amaze. Just another level of playing.

It simply isn't possible to play at that level without the ability to read music and/or tab. If there's one thing I'd do differently if I had my time again, I'd learn to read music. You can only go so far playing by ear, and while I can get away with improvising in covers bands, as soon as it gets serious, I don't expect the call.
