I'm interested in a plugin HV. EV tech is just not at a state capable of making long trips. However the 40 mile range is idea for day to day use. IMO, at this time, this is the best option at

I just test drove the Niro EV. I liked it a lot. The only thing holding me back is lack of knowledge about stuff like the different plug in stations in America. Esp whether they all support this car. Also considering a Chevy Bolt & Kona EV. Wish someone would do a comparison.

Pre-ordered the level 2 over a month ago now and finally got to test drive one over the weekend and it was a great drive, however the technology inside was disappointing. The infotainment system is older and the screen just doesn't look as nice compared to the higher specs because it's not long one long piece of glass but plastic surrounding the screens. Also the place where you have the buttons for heated and ventilated seats are just left blank but the square is still there, so you'll always feel like you're missing features when it's so in your face like that. Decided to upgrade to the level 3. Means I'll get a month or two later but for a car I'm planning to keep for the long haul, I think I'll be much happier! I do wish I could get the level 4, but that's just too unaffordable for me and the extras you get above the level 3 didn't make it worth it imo
@IceColdMango2 жыл бұрын
Good choice, I think the 2 is perfectly acceptable but the feature jump from 2 to 3 based on the cost difference means the 3 is definitely the most optimal spec to buy.

Hi, test drove a Hybrid version and found the body roll was quite excessive, is the ride firmer in the full EV version?
@tonyaguon2512 жыл бұрын
Great video, Tim. I haven't seen any other vids with the PHEV Niro. You had mentioned loss of boot space with the phev. Do the rear seats lay flat like the Hybrid and EV? Or, did you have time to check that part out? I'm trying to get a picture of how much space will be lost due to the battery and if it will affect my purchase. Thanks.

I like the looks, I have a 2017 model 3 HeV; You forgot to mention the sport mode which gives you a little extra punch for those quick get aways or over takes, I hear it’s a little more refined in the newer car. I also noticed it hand flappy paddles, so can you now adjust the regen or is that for changing gear when in sport/manual mode?

Genuine q. Why not use cheaper drum brakes (since they're barely being used)? No-one will drive this aggressively anyway
@graantmnz2 жыл бұрын
surely these days disc brakes ( due to volume ) are cheaper that drum brakes..

@@graantmnz ford downgraded the fiesta ST-Line brakes from disc to drum in 2020 (I'm guessing, cos the 2018 have discs), so I doubt it's cos discs are cheaper

My partner is collecting her 2 trim Niro HEV next week. I enjoyed driving it during the test drive. Quiet, comfortable, spacious (I’m 6ft 5) front and rear., and enough power for most. Would I have liked the 3 or 4 spec…yes….but a little too expensive for our budget right now. Enjoyed your review…and your subtle humour. Subscribed…as requested
