Aahh...another classic and exactly like ma and sis used to make it. We are simple yet complex people, simple in a way that we thrive to maintain our heritage and complex in a way that anybody outside our biosphere would never understand our simplicity. Tin fish chutney just speaks breakfast, theres the complexity right there to the rigid mind. What they dont realise is that this was a humble dish often eaten by our poor and humble forefathers yet...the transformation of fish in a can into a mouthwatering dish is arithmetic to us yet complex to others. This is a beautiful dish, the flavours are unwavering and mounts a relentless attack on the tastebud. The chilli and brine combination exemplifies the complexity of this simple dish, with mielie meal roti it takes the flavour burst to salivating levels. I make two variations of middlecut and this is one of them. Solina has paid wonderful homage to this humble dish and gifted us with a visually stunning presentation, I can literally taste it right now. This is a gratifying, sumptuous and exceptional dish, well done Queen of Spice and the Perima team 👏 Please give my regards and loves to Doc.

Thank you Randy ❤️ this dish completely transports me back in time. Simple, authentic soulful food made my the hands of loved ones are the most precious memories. Those salivating anxious moments ... always asking, is it ready yet? They are now the same words that my children say daily ❤️ These are indeed the truly humble but classic dishes that I would enjoy more than sitting at a fine dining restaurant. Doc is on the mend & recovering well. Thank you so much 🙏🏽 ❤️ love Solina

Hey Cynthia, that sounds amazing. I usually cook for a family of 4 ( but I sometimes have leftovers for breakfast or lunch the next day. Most of the time I use a kg of meat etc . This was one can of pilchards. The eggs also bulk up the curry but there were no leftovers today. I’m so excited that you are enjoying yourself, it really sounds so awesome 😎. Keep having fun & happy cooking. ❤️ Solina
