spoilers I know everyone's talking about DMA checking the back of his head to check that his mask is still on but like... I can't get over the fact that he heard that. He heard Curt say his name even though he had no idea DMA was really him. He heard that and knew that even after four years, Curt never forgot him. And I can't help wondering if that made him hate him more or less, if it made him feel guilty or not, how it felt to finally have someone say his real name after all those years - especially when that person is Curt! Also... I love how Joe starts off saying 'suffer' gloatingly, knowing he's finally got what he wants and can make Curt suffer as much as he wants, but by the time the spies are forever chorus comes in he's just so angry. And you can feel how much he really hates Curt, how much he hates that Curt could withstand torture and still be brave and defiant, that he couldn't break his spirit, and you can really see how bitter and twisted he became after his 'death'. This scene is phenomenal. Hands down my favourite use of DMA being Owen. The lyrics and the acting are genius. The emotional mileage this scene gets when you rewatch it is just... amazing.

It could be foreshadowing but I think the more likely and actual reason for grabbing the back of ones head after being pistol whipped is because you're head will hurt. Pistol whips hurt
@AngelofMusic045 жыл бұрын
@@trickster6272 I actually think it's a hybrid of both. It's definitely the Deadliest Man feeling where Tatiana hit him in the back of the head, but that it comes RIGHT AFTER Curt calls out to Owen is a subtle way of suggesting Owen is checking the back to make sure the mask isn't damaged and putting his ultimate scheme at risk.
@trickster62725 жыл бұрын
@@AngelofMusic04 That could be true but I think that it is more of the pistol whip that makes him grab his head. There is a lot of other moments in this part that is foreshadowing such as when the deadliest man says, "Well, you're not gonna just slip by with your cocky demeanor this time I'll see to that." I love that whenever a show/movie is portraying Nazis they’re either the most terrifying thing in the world, or the biggest goofball idiots and there’s no in between
@justarose Жыл бұрын
Because it's hard to portray nazis as human or flawed or layered- no audience member wants to sympathise with or be interested in a nazi, and no writer wants to write a sympathetic nazi or delve into the mindset of one Also, no one wants to root for a fucking nazi, so they can never be on the side of the people we're rooting for So that means if you want to portray nazis at all in your story, you have to dehumanise them and make them the antagonist- aka, a one dimensional villain The trope of a one dimensional villain can be either played for drama or for comedy, which gives you the two options you listed

If you like the song in this video, I strongly recommend getting the version from the album, because it's been done in a studio the audio level for each singer has been balanced out so they're at the same sound, making it much easier to understand who's singing what, and arguably making the song sound better as a result.

Not to read into things too much but it hurts my heart that 'I've been waiting for this moment for such a long time' is the line Mr Deadliest Man is singing as he drops to one knee.

I remember the first time i watched this when DMA said "I've been waiting for this moment for such a long time/and wouldn't you know it - you're finally mine" i said, out loud, "you met him a few days ago?" if i only knew what i know now....

Understood. You guys got lots on your plates! No worries. Great job so far! I'm now convinced MK Wales should be a professional singer/spy. a spinger? spyringer? singyer? ANYWAY! Bravo!

It's amazing how mush work you, TCBrothers, have done with this show. And in quite short period of time! Besides lines and songs learning and choreography (which is spectacular and witty, btw) and rehearsals... I mean - the set! All these costumes! For like 30 characters so far? Рrops - guns, china, furniture... So so many details! Just amazing.

“I’m a big boy” reminds me of Commander Up saying “I pee like a big boy” in Starship. Also, Joe, um, genuinely scary in this role..

This song is IT like holy heck how do you stuff so many different songs into 1 song and make it the best thing ever???? And everyone singing and overlapping and all ending with "Die" at the end is like poof fireworks! And all the actors are 10/10 like this musical honestly is pushing away beetlejuice as my number 1 favourite musical. SPOILERS for whole show below: AND IT GETS BETTER THE SECOND TIME YOU WATCH IT BECAUSE WELL YEAH UHM

1) the air bite that Joe does around 4:27 is sexy as hell 2) this show is so we'll written. Really enjoying the quality of musical numbers and tensions between characters. The fact that it has starkids in it is a bonus.
