The Hong just takes a ton of break in. Mine was kinda bad out of the box, and it took me around 600 solves to fully break it in. Honestly, I've done over a 1000 and it feels really good compared to when I first got it. So I'd say don't give up on it yet. Great video! Glad to see this is working out for you!

Hey tingman - I wanted to let you know that the MGC "speed actuator" 4x4 has ball bearings between the springs and screws, but these don't actually do anything as the screw and spring to not move at all in a 4x4 mechanism. I suspect that the slightly improved speed comes as a result of the primary internals replacing the original dyed white ones.

while the pieces may help, it doesn't make a huge difference, biggest difference there is with the primary and dyed pieces are feel

The QiYi M Pro Ball-Core UV is honestly one of the best value cubes out there. I can often find it on sale for like $12. Its full feature: maglev, UV, ball-core, adjustment system. It feels really good too. It reminds me of the MoYu YS3 M Ball-Core UV. Adding a plush, but fast lube setup to it makes it feel insane

@@ClockSolver As someone who lives in a country with 4 official languages, and English isn’t one of them, I take you at your word :) Zee sounds strange to me and English developed from a West Germanic language closely related to German (zett), Dutch (zet), Danish (zæt) etc.

18:16 cause it actually is different internally i just found out If you look at what indicates the glossy version in 16:42 its a circle, that means its an older batch that isnt as good as the regular vin should be (this isnt speculation or anything, it was confirmed by vin itself) The uv must only come in newer batches since it was released later (if you want to confirm you can check the box if you still have it, it should have a tick instead of a circle)

ahhhhhhh don't twist the edge to disassemble you have to turn 45 degrees, put your thumb under the piece and the pull it out while stretching the surrounding corners also the vin is only good if you lube everything, including the core (like the screw and springs) and rings (a piece the centers turn on top of) because the vin is completely dry ootb, in my experience there is a huge difference with and without lube in the rings and core and yes, the hong is uv
