Why do athletes raise their legs before and after a race? Does it improve performance?
@rreilz
@rreilz 4 жыл бұрын
Lexie152 after it gets rid of the lactic acid build up in the legs and for before I’m not so sure. It may do the same thing.
@TheRollingBacon
@TheRollingBacon 4 жыл бұрын
It's about pushing forward. At that point in the race, the lactic acid level in the legs is already sky high and weighing you down. Runners lifting their legs towards the end of the race is the same concept as pumping your arms - it's to move yourself forward when the pain is unimaginable.
@the_norty_rider
@the_norty_rider 4 жыл бұрын
Before... keep the legs light by stopping fluid retention. I get it bad if i stand too much. After, flush away lactic.

Question: would you recommend eating cereal in the morning or is all just junk food in your opinion? I’m not, what kinds would you recommend?
@the_norty_rider
@the_norty_rider 4 жыл бұрын
Stay away from junk food. All depends on what time your race is, and how long the race is. Morning race just some toast or a banana. If it's an evening race you could have cereal for breakfast and sandwich for lunch and again toast or banana a few hours before the race. Nothing heavy that takes a long time to digest on the day of a race. Stay light, but well fuelled and ready to go. I've ran a 3.42 1500m and 1.50 800m, so have the experience.

SAmi 8232 it’s silly and immature to belittle his accomplishment or people being happy for him. If the circumstance is so “funny”, enjoy the great joke to yourself. Being negative isn’t “cool”.
