😂😂😂😂🔥😂😂😂😂😂. My new saw’s “Hissing!!!”!!! That would be nuts…especially if it was intermittent!!!! I bought a husky 371 off eBay about 10 years ago from a repair shop… it was parts only/low compression…about a hundred bucks and $30 shipping… I pulled off the cylinder as soon as the mailman dropped off the box because I was looking to fix it quick and put it to work…I was scratching my head…the topend was still very nice??? I grabbed the decomp and found that it had been leaking and somehow the guy at the shop had missed that the only issue with the saw was a leaking decomp button!!!! My $130 dollar 371 was running awesome in 15 minutes after arrival!!! I was so so happy! I had already ordered a bunch of parts for it thinking that it was totally roasted…I had a couple hundred bucks worth of parts that I didn’t even need! So I had to keep looking for a broken 372 for my parts of course!!!😂😂😂😉. I ended up putting the 52mm popup piston Hyway topend on that saw with the 28” Sugi bar…. I absolutely love that combination and this combination is the way I’m making all my 372’s… from here on out…. ❤️👍😁. I really dig those Hyway popup topend’s!!! They are really good money!!!

I'm a bad person I Went for max displacement, chopped my beauty white top practica to fit spark plug and external air filter. It must be a early model cos it has no chain, break I get what said about peaky I think went too far with porting, I can't get it to run. It's has cheap china 272 top end and carb. this is my fav series saw. I have 268, 266, 162se. All needing bits and bobs fixed. Thanks so much for sharing.

You truly have developed a "library" for saws. At least, back in my day, a library was always considered where you go to get knowledge. There you have it! Every one of these videos, and every piece of advice or story from your own experience is truly a working library for chainsaw building and repair. Cannot thank you enough for doing all you do! 💪👍

Great series👍 and awesome collection of 200 series husky's!! If the staining on that practica cap bothers you enough, magic erasers work great on plastics. If that won't get it, I'd imagine some light wet sanding and polish would work a treat. Then again, if it's too pretty, one may not have as much fun with it🙃 look forward to the next video!

The only Husqvarna I have was given to me as a non working 61,well I got it running well,and cys like a beast but when I looked up the sn I found that it was actually a 162 SE and was made in 1981. My saw doesn't have a brake on it,as that was an option back then.

Tinmaaaaan, my Canadian brother.. Love this 200 series, a favorite of many of us subs. I have the same brown intake block on my early 80s 162 se. 48 mm cylinder and piston are still available for that 61. That top cover is gold, why not port the s#/&(t out of a 48mm and go with that?? Just a thought.. SLANT'E and keep em comin

Will Chambers@ The good old Husqvarna 200 series! I would divide into four families. 238,242,42, sepcial42 and 246. The little . 154SE, 254SE, 254XP, 257,262XP. Between two. 162SE, 61,266SE, 266XP, 268,268XP, 272XP. big ones . 181SE, 281XP, 288XP are very big.

This is perfect, I have a 61 black top that is mint and a 266 that looks like it was run over by a skidder. As ugly as the 266 is it has a lot more grunt than the 61 so I will just swap the top, recoil and clutch cover and I will have a nice looking little sleeper.

you can make old brake fit on 272 with decomp you just need to cut some of the plastic of the end of the valve
@rob0661012 жыл бұрын
the easiest way to tell early 61 from the later one is the coil. Early 2 piece coil ,later 1 piece coil. The later 61.268. and 272 have different screw spacing then the cases that have the two piece coil.

I have a J670 Champ 1 pc ignition with hacked up top cover and air filter cover. Had a cone filter sticking up through a big hole. I want to return it to stock but those covers are unobtanium. Will any Husky covers fit?

A side note to the jonsered top cover on a 272 chassis. It will fit but only 2 out of the 3 screw holes line up. The rear left on the 272 chassis is set back from the right and jonsered are straight across each other. Just saying for those that may come across a cheap jonsered top cover and think they’re good to go !!!

Did you have any aluminum transfer? I use 320 to recrosshatch the cylinder…. ? PM me if you need help or have questions… the Cabers can be a smig longer to help with a little worn bore I’ve been told… don’t use synthetic mix oil to start because it retards the rings ability to seat properly.., you need about a half dozen tanks or regular 2 stroke to get them rings seated and the compression up… 👍😁

@@DaveyBlue32 I did. I used acid to remove it and ball honed it. Felt good. I will know more tomorrow. Thanks for offering a hand. Appreciate it

Hey Tinman, what would you do if you had a minty low hour 55 rancher with a cooked top end? It's my father's, think he either dull chain overheated or straight gassed. ( got very low compression, scored piston when looking through exhaust). Would you rebuild, port or use parts for something else? It's a later model near the end of the run(no decomp) circa 2004-2005 off the top of my head
@tinmanssaws2 жыл бұрын
Can always rebuild em, lots of parts for those around.
