Hello Tina I have long been an admirer of your excellent teachings but at 83 yrs I have been "avoiding" the envelope border, so I launched into your method and but I still couldn't pick up those pesky little foundation chains?? Then I studied ( for hours ! ) the actual way you handle and insert the hook and bingo I think that I might be getting there. Thankyou so much for your videos, and YES you can teach an old dog new tricks!

I just bought the pattern on Ravelry and used it to make a quick practice swatch. Thank you so much for doing these tutorials! I’ve never done mosaic crochet before because it looked to complicated but your tutorials break it down so easily. I also LOVE the double border technique and hadn’t seen that before. I think I’m going to do that on all my blankets now because it really does give it a professional finish. Thank you so much for your creativity and all the time you spent on this pattern!

Thank you so much for this tutorial! I've crocheted for many years and just recently heard of this enclosed border. It's going to be life changing! I've always liked frequent color changes between rows but always disliked the effect of weaving all of the ends in (those sides always ended up being wider than the body of the afghan). This looks like it will totally solve that problem! Many thanks for this tutorial!
@TinnaThorudottirThorvaldar4 жыл бұрын
I know!! I like to work over my ends, but when it’s frequent chances than you always end with a slightly pulled sides like you say!! And just wait and see when you try it, because it’s not only a good technical solution, the double border also gives a beautiful professional finish‼️😉🙌🏽🙌🏽💯💃🏻😘

Dear tin a - thank you for this amazing design that you done. I fell in love with the Havana afghan the moment I saw your video and started work on it for a baby blanket for the first grandchild who is coming into our family in November this year. Thank you as this is truly special for me. I’ve reached pattern 5. I will send you the pic once completed. I’ve just realized that as I progressed to pattern 5, there has been a big difference in the gauge from pattern 1 to Pattern 3. For some reason pattern 1 - 3 is shorted in length than pattern 4 - 5. I’ve used different weight yarns but the same sized crochet hook. Can you please tell me how I can rectify this problem so that I get same horizontal length through out. Once again thank you for the detailed effort you’ve taken with the video. It’s amazing and this one is extra special.
