The Tinnitus Chopper is a four high frequency noises filtered with a fluctuating variable filter effect nicknamed a chopper. Each noise is in a different frequency range and also slowly sweeps changing frequency. It is sonically reminiscent of sprinklers on the grass.
The Tinnitus Scrubber is a similar noise creation with a rhythmic pulsing of the noise. The Chopper is the next variation of this concept. Most of the tinnitus series is specific focused frequencies or sweeping of a singular frequency. The exceptions being the Scrubber and the Chopper (so far).
Concept:
This noise is designed to hopefully break the ringing cycle by distracting the ear to a new sound in that same frequency range. Everybody's ringing is a unique frequency (or multiple frequencies), so it may work for some and not for others depending on the type of tinnitus the listener has.
Your comments and stories are appreciated for creating the next content and in support of our listening community.
Low volume listening is recommended.
Thanks for listening, Dale

Thanks for this, I haven't noticed any change yet but I will keep listening. Importantly, to me at any rate, is that you understand the condition through suffering from it. I'm not suggesting that others who produce similar videos have not or do not suffer from tinnitus but the difference is you, in my view, are more open and honest about what might be achieved. GPs mostly know nothing other than their learning about medical conditions and that often means they don't know how people really feel. I love the scissors!

Just found this after a bit of KZbin surfing. This is absolutely a God send. Clicked away after only 2 minutes and the awful noises that I’ve lived with these past 5 years is finally bearable. It’s not 100% gone however, a 90% reduction is simply amazing. An hour has lapsed and still holding at -90. You’ve saved me from this madness. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!😂

I think you are on to something with your work/research, one day thru trial and failure you might find the perfect sequence that will cure us with a single track... I noticed that by playing only one frequency, or any of your tracks, helps only temporarily, because it repeats itself, which is kind of like tinnitus😉, but comes from outside, so fighting fire with fire. By occasionally pausing the track, we get to the point where the sound comes from...from silence...and anything heard is compared to that. Even if your silence rings a bit...Your 13kHz track turned my ringing into a sound comparable with hissing you hear from speakers on an analog Amplifier. Unfortunately by listening longer it started to ring above that. Your best track so far is fluctuating noise. Keep up the good work!

Have you ever done anything that has both lower and higher frequencies at the same time? With my tinnitus it feels like I hear a variety of frequencies all at once, all the time. I have a high pitch hissing and a lower pitch ringing. I like your tinnitus scrubber best but nothing I’ve found 100% cancels out the ringing for me. Thanks for these videos they are great :)

I agree because this for example helps break up the high pitched sound but another hissing squeal comes into play too.. Mine actually shifts frequency sometimes a few minutes into a video Like it helps for a minute but then my ears adjust and suddenly the tinnitus has a different sound than it had a minute ago This is interesting how this specific video actually makes my ears feel warm and like full of pressure almost but it’s soothing Bc it absolutely chops the tinnitus I just wish my tinnitus wouldn’t shift or add more frequency with it A much higher pitched frequency 😅 We appreciate all you do Dale! Thank you

Thank you Dale. I am finding that the 5500-8000 khz range are most effective for my form of tinnitus. Also, I notice that there is silence(no ringing) for about 1 minute after pausing these scrubbers... In addition, when the ringing starts back up, it is a different kind of ringing. It seems as though the "new" ringing is a "compliment" of the current sound I listen too. Somehow it seems the ringing is filling in a frequency that is different from the one I just listened to. Which could be higher or lower in frequency, and it varies in frequency. So, if I start at 5.5khz, then go to 8 khz, I can hear an in- between frequency while listening to the 8 khz.. That is, after a short pause of about 1 minute of silence....
@DavidMichaelKalman
@DavidMichaelKalman 2 жыл бұрын
Same for me. Would still be nice to have audio that has intervals of dead silence.
@bradharper5397
@bradharper5397 2 жыл бұрын
@@DavidMichaelKalman I think that would help. When I listen to the scrubbers for extended time, there is a background frequency that "appears" during the scrubber. Then when the scrubber is manually stopped, there is silence for a short interval. I am not sure how to deal with this phenomenon, but it is real. The best I can do, is to insert silent intervals myself using an audio editing utility called "audacity", and then experiment with adding other sounds to deal with the "new tinnitus".
@dalesnale
@dalesnale 2 жыл бұрын
I will try a silent interval video soon. Thanks for the suggestion
@bradharper5397
@bradharper5397 2 жыл бұрын
@@dalesnale The inserted silent intervals may be a good way to find out if and when our tinnitus starts up again. When I do it manually, and after about 30 sec to one minute my tinnitus starts up again, I play a different frequency, pause it and I find out that it sometimes will silence the tinnitus again. I then write down that "helpful" frequency. Usually, for me, the steady tones between 5.5 and 11 khz will silence the tinnitus that starts up. But again, the silent interval usually only lasts about one minute. Lastly, for me, when my sinus acts up(hay fever, etc) my tinnitus is more severe, and the pressure I feel around the lower part of my ear is greater(swelling maybe). Decongestants and nasal irrigation does help.

Thank you so much for your videos, Dale, they are a real help! My favorites are your sweeping pink and the teal ( both so soothing), but the one that matches mine the closest is the one with the alien face in the thumbnail. I got emotional listening to that through headphones for the first time, as I hadn't experienced the "absence" of my tinnitus since the early '00s. It's a bit singularly intense after a while, though--it just occurred to me while typing this that I should try listening to it simultaneously with teal. I also have a short recording of cicadas someone posted online from about a decade ago that is an effective masker for the pulsing quality of tinnitus.
