The story was that she was bought by a family with a toddler and the family weren't supervising the toddler with the puppy. The toddler was colouring the fog with pens and it was obvious she was being mistreated. Not sure why the family abandoned the puppy but so glad they did!!

Unfortunately, some people simply cant have a house full of dogs. For example in poland, in older villages, pups are killed simply because the household cant afford them, as heartbreaking as it is, life is extremely brutal. That is also why we need more people like this person!

JoAnne, I agree. I caught my red Healer with a net because someone kicked her out of their car. She wondered up to a guard shack at a business & took up with them. She greeted them when they got to work. But wouldn't let them touch her. Manager found out that she was there & wanted her gone. Took me a week, but I caught her. 14 months later she greets everyone. She is the sweetest & loving girl.

Because people will get puppies (and dogs) not knowing the work that they entail. They see a cute face and act on impulse. Then they get the little LIVING thing home and realize they don't just train themselves, they don't just feed themselves and they have adjustment periods and need LOTS of attention. Knowing this selfish/self-centered mindset of many people who for some stupid reason REFUSE to do research first and take the time to learn and figure out the kind of dog that'll fit their current lifestyle if any even fit into their life at all, it's really not that inconceivable.

They got the dog the kids wanted but had no clue a puppy is a baby. You can not just give it to your children. Some people just need a little course of how to raise a puppy. If you have kids adopting a grown adult dog is the way to go.

It can be for many reasons but it's always very sad. Sometimes ppl will give someone a puppy as a surprise gift, but they're not allowed to keep it in their apartment. It's the fault of the gift-giver, but now the puppy has no home. It's better they leave it at a shelter rather than abandoning it outdoors in the middle of nowhere- which some ppl do bc they're ashamed to leave their dog at a shelter, afraid of being judged. Sometimes a sudden health issue will occur where a person will have to stay in the hospital for weeks or months, or if they become disabled and can't care for their dog, or if they pass away... If they don't have a good family who will take care of their dog, then someone might drop the dog off at the shelter. It's unfortunate that the dog couldn't be re-homed, but it takes a strong community to do that, and not everyone is so fortunate. It can be for a wide variety of reasons, but it's always very sad. I've never had to myself, but working with disabled ppl, I've known others who've had to and it's heartbreaking for them. I'm so glad this little pup is going to a happy forever home 💜

Some people like the idea of a puppy but then get overwhelmed by how much work it can be, especially if the family has little kids, cuz puppies are like another needy kid. I used to foster dogs and it boosted my faith in humanity to see that for every abandoned dog, there were ten loving people wanting to adopt it. This dog got super lucky! Best dog life ever!

Some people don’t think about the cost and time of owning a pet. Others don’t research the breed or think about that breed with their lifestyle. For instance hounds barks/howls can be extremely loud so if you live in an apartment you may get complaints (I lucked out with my beagle since she wasn’t a howler). It sounds like they had kids and not necessarily well behaved ones if they’ve been coloring on the dog so it may have been too much for them to handle and the dog is clearly better off. They also shouldn’t adopt another dog.

Those tiny crys.... She was not just abandoned but taken from her mom way too soon. So glad she was found by him. I pray for her litter mates and mother.... Where ever they are.

It's a great pack of dogs this man has. I'm assuming that many, if not all, are rescues. If I had the land, this would be me. He just feeds them, and they get whatever else they need from each other. As dogs, coyotes, and wolves live in the wild, they are at their happiest! Much respect for this massive dog lover! MAY GOD BLESS HIM. 😊

Thank God Lee was there (once again) to save a precious pup in need. He's truly a guardian angel to so many. All dogs should be as blessed as Poppy to live at the Asher House surrounded by love and lots of other sweet, furry companions. I will never understand how someone can be so cruel to turn their backs on them, but I'm glad animal lovers like Lee exist to counteract some of that evil. God bless all animals and those who care for them.

Thank you very much, Lee for rescuing this cute, adorable, and beautiful puppy to save her life. Little did she know that she is with the best person, who would change her life forever. This puppy fits right in, at first enjoying playing with one of the dogs and later having a walk with the pack. It is amazing to watch how her tiny feet are walking or running so fast to keep up with the dogs and enjoying their company.
