My grandma died and left me her car and the CD’s that came with. One was an Elton John album with this song as part of it. Tiny Dancer will forever remind me of her. I drive her car with pride.

One of my all time favorite songs. 30 years ago my husband was driving me to the hospital to have our second son, who was coming fast, and as we drove by the big lake surrounding our town, this song came on and it kept me calm as the contractions grew stronger and faster! I will always love this song!
@debbieprokop94012 жыл бұрын
I was sixteen when this song came out. My heart, soul and body was young, now, they are not, but this song still leaves me confused and sad. But also happy, in that moment when I was young, my body strong, my heart beating faster, my soul untouched by the human experience of life! Happy and sad, a bittersweet combination of emotions. But as the Tiny Dancer tells us to keep, counting the headlights on the highway, I will do my due diligence to keep counting. And living the human experience until I can't any longer. Tiny Dancer is each one of us, struggling, singing, crying and laughing. For every day is another, miracle and tragedy of the Tiny Dancer that is you and me. My heart is giving a shout out of hugs to all moved by this song of life.

As an 80's teenager, and Heavy Metal, Hair Metal fan, I really enjoyed the likes of diverse music ranging from The Fixx, Platinum Blonde, The Cure, Michael Jackson, etc. Going into the 90's Alice in Chains, Creed, etc. were groups I really enjoyed. Elton John was a performer I listened to first when I was 11, and 12, along with Rush, Kiss, and AC DC. I have often wished I could emulate the voices of many artists, however Elton is on the top of my list, and this would be the song I would pick. I sit here listening, and playing air piano on my desk while singing, and just imagine playing in front of friends, families, and even strangers. What an amazing tune.

Had a dream about my best friend who passed away a month ago, tomorrow. She mentioned this song. Neither of us had ever spoken about it or Elton John before and I don’t think I have never even heard the full song until I looked it up this morning after my dream. She was a dancer and loved the 70s era when we were in middle school together. Listening to it and looking up the meanings intended by the writers it reminds me of her.

This was my favorite song since it was the first song on the first side that everyone heard... first. But that side also ended with Madman across the water. What an intensely honest song. With awesome piano and guitar to perfectly match the mood set by the ramblings of a lonely madman that lived across the water.

my ghost friend thomas was a elton john fan, so the funeral host played his songs at his funeral after he died from blood cancer when he was only 23 years old. This song played as he was being buried in the ground as his beloved pet swan, (alice johanson) a.j., was mourning his death and honking tears as they buried him in the ground. they found her dead later that day by his grave. the autospy said she died from a broken heart. they buried her too the next day. forever you're in our hearts you'll be thomas and a.j. fly high, you two. i love you both. rip. 1999-2023. 2000-2023.
