this put tears in my eyes. my cat had kittens three months ago (all of them have new homes now!). when they opened their eyes, i notice one of them, Jinx, was blind. After that i was considering keeping her because i wasnt sure if anyone would adopt a blind kitten, or how she would do in a new home. she seemed pretty healthy at first... until the beginning of her 5th week. i noticed she had started drooling, and a lot, and i didnt know why. she wasnt eating at all either. she would also hiss more and isolate herself from her mother and siblings. i knew she was sick, so i told my mom about it and asked her if we could take her to the vet. she told me she'd be fine. so, i started putting her in my bed to sleep with me just to make sure she was okay and that she wasnt too cold or something, because i had no idea what to do. i started doing some research, and this is when i found out what FKS (fading kitten syndrome) was, and realized that this might be what's wrong with her. I was really worried. the next day, i went to my bible study and we did prayer requests. my prayer request was that my sick kitten would be okay. the exact morning after that day, I woke up and couldnt feel Jinx sleeping on my arm. I looked around quickly because i was about to panic, and i looked next to me and she was dead. I cried a lot, everyday for 5 days. I stayed home from school that day because i was so heartbroken, worried that she died because of something i did. its been 3 months and i still wonder if i hadnt let her sleep in my bed with me that night, she would still be alive. im so happy that King Chester got a second chance and made it through his sickness. He's such a beautiful cat! im so happy for him, you go Chester!!

Huh, I never thought of it it that way. I got very sick with something that attacked my gastro-intestinal system when I was about 14 days old. I was in the University of WI Children's Hospital for over a month struggling to live after my small local hospital couldn't help me. Then I was on a special formula ONLY (no solid food or anything else) for over a year to help heal my gut. It apparently smelled horrible and was really expensive at the time per my parents. I went into the medical field and have always been very connected to those suffering with health problems, especially chronic illnesses. Perhaps I picked that up from the doctors and nurses that saved my life way back then. 💜

What a great story! My wife and I adopted two little ginger kitten brothers recently. One had a URI and was small. He took to me immediately. We got him an antibiotic, but then he stopped eating. I stayed up with him for two nights feeding him with a syringe. I learned you can give them some Pedialyte and a drop of syrup. After I did that, it brought his blood sugar up. He sprang to life in about 15 minutes. A month and a half later he is still small for his age, but he is unstoppable. His big brother doesn’t cut him any slack and he throws it right back at him. They are inseparable. He has markings similar to Chester. I love the part about when kittens struggle, it makes them have a love for life. Definitely true for my little buddy. Chester is such a handsome & sweet boy. Caroline & her family are amazing pet parents & you can tell that Chester really melted their hearts. Thank you for fostering all those adorable kittens & to Chester for being an amazing kitty mentor. I wish I could foster but I get too attached. I can barely even go to the shelter without wanting to take home every cat & dog. I lost my two amazing kitties Chip & Calvin last year☹️☹️😫 & am still grieving & recovering. One day I will make it back to the shelter so I can adopt a couple of new kitties in honor of Chip & Calvin. Pet parents rock🤘🐱+🐶RULE!👍🙂

OMG, I LOVE THIS! The little ones are adorable. I have 2 cats that were from a little born under my dresser. I woke up one morning to the sound of mew, mew, mew... BABIES!!! Yay. I was so excited. Thank you for caring for the sick ones. It's a shame in our society that we can so easily throw sick people and animals to the curb.

It’s truly amazing how an animal can completely change our lives. Chester has given you so much that now you are paying it forward with all the rescues you care for. I think he’s paying it forward as well for all the love & kindness you’ve shown him as well. 🐾❤️🐾

We've adopted 8 abandoned neighborhood cats and I've had lots of cats over my life. I've three male "gingers" and have one now and they seem to be some of the best cats. Always very affectionate and friendly to strangers.

It seems your love and loving promise healed Chester. Maybe it was harder on him to be taken from his mother at 2 weeks and he needed extra love. Thank you for making the world a better place. All hail the regal Chester! 🌻🐈💐❤

Please don't bring the imaginary ghost in the sky into this. Its 2021. She did it on her own .. her and her husband . Not a ghost in the clouds. Please stop that and wake up.

I made a similar promise to my little Bo after the cats got the flu from me. He got hit the worst and I didn't think he'd make it, because he was a runt, which is probably why he was abandoned. So glad he made it in my life.
