I loved this man’s honesty when he said that tiny houses are not for everyone and not for them at this point and that they are looking to move into a normal sized house.
@lorrainedinsmore13073 жыл бұрын
Yes, agree. My reason for loving the idea is that I want less housework, but what if I'm untidy? The tiny house forces you to be more organised...
@MrOrcshaman3 жыл бұрын
I'm glad he said it too. Tiny house living is fine if its just yourself and maybe your partner/spouse you enjoy being around all the time, but these things are not suited for a growing family, since the children will need their own private space as they grow up.
@CianMcsweeney3 жыл бұрын
Yeah i don't think tiny houses on wheels work for families, mainly due to the size restrictions, especially height. A stationary tiny house with a foundation could definitely do work as you could scale it up just that little extra bit to give everyone their own space while still having a small (relative to traditional homes) square footage
@mmariemarkel7482 Жыл бұрын
@@CianMcsweeney I agree. It's amazing how much extra space you gain by making it 40 ft long x 15 ft wide by 17ft tall. No bumping heads in the loft space, and plenty of room to not feel walls closing in on you. In addition, plenty of storage/prep space even with full size appliances. I know I would do fine in a tiny house of that size. I don't think I would want or need it on wheels, especially if built on land I owned. I would get enough land to rent the land out to others to help finance my own build and get it paid off quicker. Once my build was complete, I could start putting some aside for taxes and emergencies, but the rest of the rent I would apply directly to the principle. One extra payment a year on principle only takes a thirty yr mortgage down to 15 yrs. Imagine how much quicker it's paid off if doing that monthly.

Their little boy is SO cherubic!! He popped his little head up in the loft looking like a tiny inmate 😂 And I loved how he was sat in his chair on the counter top when his mummy was preparing dinner. What a beautiful home and lovely family....I can totally understand though how they need a home where they don't have to tiptoe around to get ready for work, especially as the lady works as a nurse and has to rise so early. I wish them a very happy life. 💜

It is surprising how people can come up with such different ideas in a standard tiny house! I mean, every time I feel like how different this house is going to be, I get surprised. Their bathroom and the idea of keeping the bath space behind sink, and its unique geometry/shape made it so spacious. Their bathroom was quite user friendly. I loved their loft space! The baby crib, positioning of the ladder behind their sofa (in most tiny homes it is either in front or side of it), their mattress being less thick, the closet space. To sum up, I felt they intelligently made space for themselves.

I really appreciate you having chosen a family who is moving on to a more traditional home - it makes your content balanced and credible. You can see that this type of living can be a part of a person's housing, just as an apartment or a house-share can be, until you need more space. Or the inverse is also true, like when you showed that lovely widow in Van who downsized after having done the traditional thing. I think you are opening such an important dialogue in housing flexibility and variety: we are rarely one thing for our whole lives, so why would we live in one type of space? Thanks for another great vid, Bryce and Rasa!

Hey there! I think so many are making the "apartment mistake" and we even fell for the lure once ourselves. It's like the old V8 commercial...."Wow...we could have had a tiny house!" Our so- called tiny house is a 5th wheel camper with 4 slide outs. We lived in it for 5 years and paid it off right at the end. It was $30k total. Now that we have lived in a full size house for 2 years, we realize the taxes are way too high and we may never actually own the home. Looking into building a tiny den/mbr to mate up to our camper. Camper hid behind tiny house. Tiny house roof juts up and over rv. Have you ever seen this type of tiny house combo?

One rib .. one year, while coming around the corner and slipping on his shirt. The next year after finally healing up ... it happened again on the other side. Cracked that rib. I got pretty upset with him that time. He's killing me. lol. It's funny but not funny. Kids are tough. And every child is different. They don't realize what they do. They really don't.

As our sixth lockdown continues - so does my bingeing on these videos - I'm astounded how almost every video contains at least one innovative, extremely practical idea - Bryce and Rasa perhaps you could create a webpage with the ability to search on different aspects e.g. storage / child safety / showers etc etc and have links to the sections of your videos that pertain to each search. There's no doubt a way that such a service may be chargeable as it would be time consuming to set up and maintain but extremely helpful for anyone wanting to research a tiny house build

They really know how to maximize the storage in their home. That under the raised floor area was fantastic, it just kept going!!

This is such a beautiful house inside and out... and, agree Bryce, all the different wood adds so much character. As you also rightly say, however they move on, this will indeed be a treasured time in their lives.

This is amazing 😍🏡thankyou! I also loved that you asked them about some of the realities of living and things they liked/didn't. So important to consider for people wanting/starting this lifestyle

Unbelievable !!!! The raised kitchen floor train storage is a first for me, it's fantastic !!!! No wonder the house looks like this, he has a background in carpentry. He is quite talented. I love the wood throughout the home, especially in the kitchen, the bathroom door. The baby crib is a wonderful ideal how it slides. Just good ideals throughout the home. You got a lot done for the amount spent, good planning. This is a fabulous, wise investment. The kitchen and bathroom are gorgeous. The frig does looks like a dishwasher, it's unique. I love the shower. I am sure the regular home you guys will build will be even more spectacular. Much success to your growing family. Thanks for sharing.

I love all the small storage ideas they used that are common on sailboats! I’ll be living aboard full time eventually and this house comes close to the kitchen we will have on the boat! I love the entire design. Nice work!

Just Wow ! The design is incredible (definitly stealing some of these ideas), the family is lovely and it's great to hear them giving their honest opinion and openly sharing the "downs" of tiny living. Thank you for another great video !

It was really pretty. I loved the step up into the kitchen. Also loved how they were honest and said they were going to build a regular house and that tiny house living wasn't for everyone though their home was very charming. It's perfect as a guest house or office space or a private retreat for the baby once he gets older.

Their own land, no labor costs because he built it himself, the materials were reclaimed, so yeah.

Enjoyed the fact that a young couple actually planned their tiny house to include the possibilty of a child! So many don’t and I just do not understand being so short sighted. Also that crib is perfect and they came up with clever toddler-proofing ideas for the loft! Finally, I LOVE that shower! Genius!
