@MadManMusic Thank you. I haven't tried the RE-202, I know some people may think it's dumb, but I have OCD and just don't care for the form factor of it, it doesn't match my Boss compact or twin pedals, so I stuck with the RE-20 (I had a spot saved on my pedalboard saved just for it). Aside from wahs/Whammy, I only collect Boss compact and twin pedals, but did get two PSK Boss clones that I really like. I know I'm kind of strange 🤷♂️

Fuzzes and amp-in-a-boxes (Joyo British etc) are most practically useful, but I've got a thing for strange efx pedals, such as pitch-shifters, synth pedals, choruses with extreme settings, etc. I come more from late 70s New Wave/punk than I do from metal, which may explain my weird tastes.. to some degree, lol. Looks like a fun little rig you've got.

You're probably aware, but those rigid connectors can damage the sockets on your pedals if, by chance, the pedals aren't sitting perfectly flat. I don't like to risk them. Yours are probably fine, but I thought I'd mention it for anyone reading the comments. ✌️
@MadManMusic Жыл бұрын
Hey! Yeah I know. These pedals are meant to be turned on and kept on. And I would probably do that with my fingers as the board would be best situation on top of an amp in order to use the power section. So no risk of damaging anything. 🤘🏼😜

Hi, how to properly set up a tube amp and overdrive pedal, I need to turn up the volume (gain) on the amp or the pedal? I need metal tone.
@MadManMusic Жыл бұрын
Thats a great question and I actively did a video about this very topic in my “Pro-Tips” playlist. But you’ll want to set the OD Gain at 0, Tone at 50% and the Volume to Max (you may adjust these later. Then set your amp to 50% across the EQ and Gain keeping your Volume to a reasonable level for the space you’re in. Give it some chugs and adjust where you think you need it. And thats it! 💪🏼 This will give you the most neutral sound from your amp and you can cut or add frequencies from there. Thanks for the question! 🤘🏼😜

Excuse my ignorance, as I'm still on the phase when you play in small bars and little festivals (btw this set up is about as portable as I've ever seen which makes it pretty sweet), so usually I see people connecting the pedals to an amp instead of a Focusrite or any other interface for the matter. So would this work appropriately and have this killer sound on a regular clean amp too?
@raven-a2 ай бұрын
Interfaces are mostly for recording, I think this rig is supposed to go to an amp anyway
@lancedraven2 ай бұрын
@raven-a yeah, that's what I was thinking. It does sound pretty wild but, wouldn't you have something more versatile than these pedals by using software IF you are planning to connect it to your PC or Mac anyway? That's why I wonder, what about the sound for playing live or on rehearsal?

Can i ask why the noise gate is first and not after the fifty fifty iii?
@MadManMusic4 ай бұрын
Because noise gates are for controlling the articulation of your playing versus audible sound being heard through your amp. Not for cleaning up amp hiss. You can use a second gate for that… but if you only have one, use it in the first position and set it to tighten your articulation while playing. Amps hiss. Thats just what they do. But when you’re playing with a full band, at stage level volume, you cant hear the hiss. So dont worry about it. I hope that makes sense. 🤘🏼😜
