Tiny Terrier Gives Birth To Even Tinier Terriers | Paul O'Grady For The Love of Dogs

This week on For The Love Of Dogs, Paul O'Grady introduces us to two abandoned dogs, a staffie puppy called Ozzy and a 6 month old Jack Russel called Crumble. We also see a worryingly small terrier give birth to some beautiful little puppies.
Comedian Paul O'Grady follows the work of Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, meeting some of the dogs there and the people who look after them.

I love this presenter and whoever put this episode together did an amazing job. Regarding the Jack/chih mix weight issue. I have one that is a bit bigger and she had 9 puppies. I had her at the vet multiple times and he said she was doing great even the last appt 2 days before birthing. Even though I had been free feeding her she was very skinny after she had her puppies. Needless to say I fed her every 4 hours with puppy food. The puppies had clearly been using all the high calories I had been feeding her. We thought she was only having 6 puppies. She turned out to be an amazing mom to those puppies. The end resulting is that it gave her an eating disorder where she was obsessed with food day and night. Finally after 3 years she is getting over it but I still can't free feed her. So a dog can look emaciated even though you are feeding them well during pregnancy because the puppies are taking so much of her nutrition. Turns out her puppies were right up against her stomach and and kicking it she couldn't eat as well as she could. No more puppies for her and she is a great companion to me. I love her dearly.

The Momma is a Toy Fox Terrier. She looks just like my Casey - same nose, body shape after her pups. Amazing breed - we rescued Casey 6+ yrs ago when he was a baby. Who ever adopted Momma or her pups were blessed with an amazing little soul!
