VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
This 2000 Daihatsu Hijet Microvan is adorable! Nici and Max used to camp with a car and tent but quickly realized van life would enhance their journey and save much setup/breakdown time. Their DIY build is mainly sourced from recycled items and natural materials. The curtains are cut from an old table cloth that they dyed with tea, the side of the couch has a pattern made with popsicle sticks, and they also used some bamboo from their garden for decor!
There are two doors, one on each side. One is for an entrance, and the other was creatively used as an extension of the pantry. They managed to design a space where no food or clothing is visible, and things used daily have a proper spot. The tiny size of this rig suits the small streets of Europe well. It's shorter than Max (he's 6'4" for reference) and wide enough that he and Nici can cuddle at night. They've never had a problem going up steep inclines or maneuvering through quaint village roads.

I love this so much! They make it sound like this huge mansion, going on and on with "there's lots of extra storage here, and here, and....", "welcome to our living area" and "we call it our attic" -- absolutely hilarious and ingenious! This tiny van is so neat, full of love and care, it's a great joy to watch and you two are very lucky.

Americans especially think they need more everything, space, power, speed and prestige, my wife and I used to tour extensively in a 550cc Honda Acty van, our biggest trip was from Sydney to Adelaide via Hay and back via Melbourne, that's about 3000 klm. they've both done really well. Truly amazing. ✨🙌🏼 I'd love to see how long most really young couples highlighted on this channel end up living in these tiny spaces...I imagine 5 years at most, and that's probably generous. But even if just a few years, it's a great experience, because it teaches people how little they actually need of things to be happy in their lives. 👌

This is truly a life worth living. It's compact and well designed. 😌 it's really cute. The only issue is lack of a bathroom and way to wash clothing. But then again it's in Europe and they mentioned public rest rooms are everywhere. Love this tiny home 🏡
@niomeeabcd262
@niomeeabcd262 2 жыл бұрын
As a European I can attest to that. Because our landmass is tiny and we are many (xD) there is not much road left that isn't adapted to frequent bathroom breaks. Usually our autobahn has at least one modern toilet and fewer inbetween showers for truckers in most of the parking bays along the road every few kilometers. Public pools for little money are everywhere with showers. And we have many, many camp sites with the usual shower/restroom set up. P.S. Those camp sites usually have cheap options for washing your clothes ( deep sinks at least, mashines more likely)

You can use bathroom anywhere in nature, have a small shovel and dig then cover and you only need to shower once a week really, and if you go beach, pools, gyms usually you find free showers.

Wow. That is great. Perfectly accessible. Minimal budget. Would not mind having such a setup with the Mrs. Particularly like the fact that you are not confined to staying in the van. Just back it to the view you want and you have an awesome evening with that rear couch. The battery situation is also just right. No need to overspec it. Just enough for on the go. Would give up one of the clothes baskets for a cooler box somewhere for some food and/or frothies and that will be perfect. Kudos guys!

Although, you may have knowledge of this already, I am not sure, so I hope this will be helpful to you, others or someone. *Keep a Extra working cellphone with you or in your vehicle. You can purchase inexpensive phone with a very low monthly price between 25, 35, 45, dollars a month with unlimited data and text, and some have Nationwide coverage Do your research for the best fit for you Carry Several Extra portable phone chargers, and cables. Consider theses items: *Mini portable power charging station. I have also seen outdoor portable solar powered power stations, that can be recharged from sunlight this may be very useful to have, to power your devices. *Cellular signal booster for outdoor use, and camping situations to boost or amplify your cell reception, Research to see what you prefer. *Very Inportant: Invest in a SOS distress electronic signal device, this a kind of device can send out a distress signal with your exact location. There are various types of these devices, and including devices that can be used when boating or camping situations. *Some have emergency Strobe lights SOS signaling with location alerts, and location updates that can be sent to your family, and emergency first responders. Some can be synchronized with your smart watch or phone. You can check online, and on Amazon, research what SOS devices will be a good fit for you. *Mini portable vehicle battery charger-( portable vehicle battery jumper cables ) *Vehicle Jumper cables Mounted Dashboard camera front and rear possibly. Exterior vehicle cameras Interior vehicle cameras *Flashlights or pluggin spotlights *Portable spotlights, and lanterns Keep a few whistles around with you, and in your vehicle possibly in your vehicle’s center console *A set of long range 2 way radios, walkie talkies, with others during trips, some have 100 mile radius keep for emergencies. Use your own discretion regarding the use of any weapons. Don’t forget to bring Bear Spray Pepper spray Where is allowed Although, I just noticed your KZbin channel, and other similar channels. You seem Very Aware of your surroundings and Alert, and you may be aware of many of these suggestions, however, I Don’t know, so I just posted this anyway to help anyone who may benefit from these suggestions. I live in Japan. I snowboard a lot and am looking into options for extended stays but looking to reduce lodging and transportation expenses. I have a Kei van and have been researching conversion ideas. Your setup is phenomenal and in the true spirit of legit van life. Simple and functional. I’m really curious as to what you have for heating solutions.

absolutely beautiful down to the van colour - earth green is my favorite! living out of one of these would be easy as long as you had a home base or some land locked storage for excess clothes and such, very wise and clever young couple with great ideas to use all the space, the theme is nice-simple and natural. Wishing them the best on their travels
