My heart broke to hear of such a big loss. But her attitude is so amazing and she gets to enjoy living in a home where everywhere she looks, she sees Jacob. They created a lovely home at a fraction of the cost of the NZ homes.

My husband and I worked together to build a full sized house after living on a 34 foot boat for 5 years. He died 11 years ago but he was able to enjoy our beautiful home for 12 years. I have wonderful memories of our experience building and living in our home.

What she says about the grieving and loneliness is very powerful and inspiring. Even after an extremely sad event, you would carry love through a process of grieving and loneliness would not stop you from doing so…it might be irrelevant but that was what I felt when I watched a British film both poignant and beautiful, called All of Us Strangers, earlier this week. Her story resonates my heart a lot since I keep thinking about the loneliness after watching that film. I’m happy to hear she has a beautiful place to live and that literally carries a memory of her loved one!

Condolences on your loss. Jacob sounds like he was a wonderful partner. I agree though there is loss it is just as important to cherish his memory and your lives together. Incorporating Jacob into your tiny house /design is wonderful tribute to him. I found out a dishwasher truly uses less water than hand washing dishes!
