Welcome to Wildwoods Community Farm, a permaculture tiny house village. When we met Brandon a year ago, the farm manager, he was preparing for a busy Spring of permaculture design and land work. ✨🏡🌱 He gave us a tour of his charming 16’ tiny house on wheels that he built with his Dad. It’s now an Airbnb rental. And Brandon lives next door in a lovely 12' wide shed conversion tiny home.
He is incredibly thoughtful about everything he does. Permaculture is his passion. Brandon provides insight into the making of the community farm. Engaged residents are essential. Also, welcoming WWOOFers, interns, and volunteers from the local area has made a big difference too. Temporary farmhands can stay in one of the several on-site shed conversion tiny houses.

Dream of community life and living off the land? Then you'll love the Wildwoods community farm concept. Brandon, the farm manager, shows us the property with permaculture insights and gives tours of his 2 tiny houses. Both charming but very different-- a 16' tiny house on wheels and a 12' wide shed conversion tiny home. *For more tiny house communities, see our playlist:* kzbin.info/aero/PLlvBXhDyr9H1KYgiaoNKa-OZfOq6vXbkm

I'm very interested in living there. I've watched ALOT of Justin Rhoads YTube permaculture videos the last few years. I used to live in NC, presently in central Pennsylvania, but want to come back to the south. It's beautiful there. I love animals and have dreamed of having a mini farm, so this is close to it. I can feed animals as my volunteer portion, could raise chickens and share or sell the eggs, teach quilting, crochet, embroidery, sewing of almost anything from clothes to drapes. I have office skills to offer if needed, with over 40 yrs of Corp experience. I'm going to contact them. Thanks for sharing. I'm so impressed to see such a young man grab on at such a young age and try to build a community and care about growing naturally .... you just don't see that in the world today in that age group. I'm sharing this with some people. I'm a Christian, so I hope there wouldn't be alot of conflict between the residents as to their individual beliefs. The young man's father should be extremely proud of him. He's got a good head on his shoulders and headed in the right direction. He's a great asset to this community. I was once on the path to live off grid in Alaska, but got ill and somehow ended up off the path I should have been on and waited too long to get back on track. It's still my dream to garden, etc. and be self supporting. It's so important to learn to hunt, butcher, grow one's own food, learn food canning, how to build your shelter, even learn about all natural vitamins , nutrition and medicines that God gave us thru plants, etc. Wishing an abundance of God's blessings to this community, L :)

I'd imagine that Brandon may already be well aware of the following channels, but just in case he's not, thought I'd mention them as they're truly impressive. Some inspirational KZbin resources for successful, proven approaches for food production/permaculture are Edible Acres, OYR Frugal and Sustainable Organic Gardening, and Back to Reality. I'm certain there are others, but what seems to stand out with these, is something all growers aspire to but may struggle to achieve, and that is in distilling processes to their most simple and practical degree, and the genius in reaching multiple/complementary goals within them. Hope this is of some help to anyone with similar goals.

@@TinyHouseExpedition Amazing. Zero water: push a button on the tank. A cool draft of air draws downward into the toilet, as a biologically-sound soapy syrup slides down the sides of the toilet, wetting it. Push the button again after your business (with the cool draft downwards), and another layer of soapy slush slides all clean. The whole business is piped down to a basement (or lower tray?) tray about 3 ft wide and 2.5ft tall filled with cedar(?) wood chips. All the poop and pee fall in here. Pull the drawer out when it's full, stir it, and carry it to the woods for fertilizer. I used them for 16 days at a retreat in Vermont (of course) at the Trijang Buddhist Institute (all green!) . . . 350 acres of wooded land, with lots of fertilizer for the surrounding area.

End mandatory school, ged and hsd requirements, age limits, minimum wage, and exsessive regs. Gee, What a great life style where you have to drive a hundred miles to get a loaf of bread. You would have to be certified as misanthropic to desire such a life style.

This farm has grocery stores and every other type of store that you could ever imagine within a very short drive ( or bike ride ). They also have one of the best universities in the state right up the way- University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and are only a little ways from Duke University . They are close to anything you could want and to all types of people.

Some people are meant for the city and throngs, some people find their best energy in the grass and trees and earth with a few select, like-minded souls. You shouldn't mind being alone with yourself. That's when you can actually hear what your intuition is telling you.

Just because you need a "bigger" type tiny house doesn't mean anything. This is not your home. So stop putting someone else down.

@@TheWhimsicalFamily Excuse me I didn't put down anyone's house. U need 2 read it again. I merely made an observation and comment that is requested by this site! That shows u how many viewers r seeing your site and commercials u make money from. Good or negative comments and this site has some negative comments, shows that viewers r reading the site. N by the way the person that built the tiny home moved out of that 2 small 1 move n î by my 7 up2 a bigger home with more space which I whole heartedly agree that's what he needs 2 do because the 2 small home that he built with just that! 2 small ! If u only want comments that U like then don't request comments just write what U want them 2 say. Of read my opinion carefully on tiny homes I said " I like tiny homes." I am obsessed with most of them. I but I also have comments like everybody else.if you don't want their comments but only on to agree or to say exactly what you want then you don't need 2 situp a comment site! Have a good day.

@@JAGreen-lj9zi if you watched the whole video you'd know why he moved to the other one. Because he traveled for a while, and the one he built is an air bnb thats always booked. So he needed somewhere else to live. You were putting it down. Not everything is perfect but he built it his way. Im building a tiny currently and its actually going to be a gypsy wagon type. Which will include a small shower/toilet room, 2 full size bed areas, and a twin size sleeping area, a fold down floor table/ when up will hold my antique kerosene heater. Im keeping it basic and having all needs met. Since its mainly for sleeping, my kids sleeping, place to make food, shower and use the bathroom. Were minimalist and mainly in nature. Ive lived tiny going on 3 years (23ft travel trailer, and a 33ft travel trailer) my gypsy wagon will be 10.5ft by 7ft by 8ft.

@@TheWhimsicalFamily I know what I read I don't have to answer 2 U and give U reason why I said what I said. I gave the comments I want n reference of the subject observed. And I know what he said. he said he like the yellow shed better and ." its nice 2 have more kitchen space. He also said he liked he has a bigger refridgerator 2. And he said it's nice 2 have a bedroom on the same floor. U say what want 2 say about the houses, but don't butt n others, their comments on the homes. U r not the Comment Police! I said my piece on it. U don't like it so what! U didn't sit up a comment site on tiny homes. There r plenty of people that make comments on this site and they don't have 2 support your "U must like ever thing on site good or bad" attitude u want 2 regulate them 2 as free opinions on a 2 small home. If u like 2 live n a toolbox so be it, that's your opinion and your comment I support your right 2 live so tho I feel sorry 4 your kids. But if that's what u want 2 live n then by all means. I hope it's within bounds of their comfort. Have a good day Comment Police .

@@frienddarr182 lol, I think you're right. The kitchen sink is used to wash all kinds of dirty dishes. Toothpaste spit isn't something that I would consider nasty in any way , shape or form lol.
