Amazing shader. Thank you so much for this! One question, would it be possible to use with with the hair system instead and drive the profile of the curve in geo nodes? Thanks again, this is great. Can't believe you have a free version!
@GameDragon2k8 күн бұрын
Would it be possible to rotate the direction of the hair shader? Right now the hair strands scroll left to right. I'd like it to be top to bottom, if that makes sense?

Is it possible to bake this shader into a color map?
@tinynocky8 күн бұрын
you could technically bake everything but the emulated anisotropic specular. this shader was made to work in blender only, mostly to make up for the lack of anisotropy support in eevee. however check out this convo I had with slipgatecentral on twitter: x.com/tinynocky/status/1875917102047179256

Not blender user yet .....but it loved the idea ....

@tinynocky wow that's great thanks for sharing that with us. I have a question... i'm trying to load the hair into another software for example reallusion cc 4 or unreal. is it possible to physically simulate the hair like real hair? or is it just an immovable object. your solution seems easy and simple i'm just wondering if it's suitable for animation outside of blender. unlike xgen by maya etc... the programs scare me off. I also don't want to animate in blender, but use my own workflow. 😢
@TheAiConqueror9 күн бұрын
I think... this is a bone hair situation 😂 would be cool if you could have both... would easily pay you 100$ if you had a solution... i guess fortiche used xgen for this reason because it is hair simulation friendly but still stylistic 🥹 *pain*
@LuisAlvarez-yz2tv8 күн бұрын
You can simulate the objects as soft body objects, though you wouldn’t get the individual strand simulation, just the big clumps
@tinynocky8 күн бұрын
if we're talking strictly about the curves, you should be able to convert them into meshes and rig them for physics animation. however, I must add that this shader was meant to work in blender only due to the methods used to emulate the anisotropic specular
@st4rl0rd10Күн бұрын
where did you learn to do all this stuff
@andrevaccaro33464 күн бұрын
Is there a way to convert this to hair cards automatically? That would be ideal for animation and games

But does it work for curly or afro hair?
@Wyntrfang9 күн бұрын
Curly hair you can just twist the curve, but coarser, fuller hair/afro styles you might have to approach uniquely (if it's not made with curls) because of how afros are structured I've seen folks use rigged solid meshes and shaders to parallax the mass of the hair rather than curves or particles because it was easier, think LuwizArt has some good stylized leads and a hair system for curly or thick hair

I'd say this shader breaks from type 3 hair onwards, so unfortunately no here's me attempting to recreate the weeknd's hair with this hair shader, it didn't turn out well kzbin.infoJ_u7TXxAux4?si=9T-L968bPXQK7vLI&t=15583 in case the timestamp didn't work, just look at the chapters and find the part that's labelled as "skip this part" I did however find a hacky way to do locs x.com/tinynocky/status/1870410148109598745

Guys... Don't use these automatic (?) AI (?) translation tools without controlling the result. It is bad. And don't use AI generated voice overs... They're bad as well
@Edamameeeeeeeee6 күн бұрын
What are you talking about
@redrayvisuals6 күн бұрын
@Edamameeeeeeeee the video started in German for me and it was just bad... Bad AI voice and bad translation. Maybe KZbin offers something like that automatically?! Then I would suggest to deactivate the automatic translation. Honestly, it creates the impression of a very unprofessional video - which it isn't what I realized after changing to English original
