I actually thought they were garbage remakes. The Devi islands sucked. Half the features in the game were only cool if you went to events etc. My goblet couldn't evolve until I beat the E4. The story barely changed.

The best sprites for the first 151 Pokemon, the text speed is just right, the music is AMAZING, the story is at least interesting, the hardest champion in the series excluding Cynthia, plenty of post-game quests to catch Gen 2 mons, Elite 4 Round 2, Vs Seeker...these games are amazing.

When I was playing through LeafGreen, I taught my Alakazam Hyper Beam, thinking it would make a dangerous combination with Calm Mind. But it did pitiful damage to Koga's Weezing, and then I learnt that it is a physical move.

Yeah, nothing quite like "All normal type moves are physical" the best one is Kingler's huge attack stat and water type moves ALL being special. Or Hitmonchan with all the elemental punches being special

Ive played 6 different pokemon games maybe but i played Yellow,Fire Red and Diamond alot. I caught a shiny Spearow on fire red and out of who i know, im the only person to ever catch a shiny legit, so they rare af haha. Shiny ponyta was always the dream though. You should do... Pokemon fire red but you can only use shiny and can only defeat shinies. That way you have to reset a whole year just to make brock have double shinies to defeat :)

At the time, I was not aware of the odds, but this was coming right out of crystal version, so the shiny color was amazing. But then I never encountered one in sapphire again. Haha.

I did a challenge like this but it only took a few days because I used 20-30 emulators all hunting at once 😂 also, it would've been easier to hunt Magikarp in Vermilion City with an Old Rod since his encounter rate is 100% and fishing encounters are less annoying. Love the video though!
