You are correct. 7 UP is terribly fickle. I cringe when I get an order, because it typically sticks. But, 7 UP cake is very popular in New Orleans. I will definitely try this. Praying this works for me.

The only time this did not work for me was when I didn't put the cake on the hot towel right out of the oven, or if I didn't leave the cake on the hot towel long enough ( 20-30 minutes ) those two steps are very important. And make sure it's a good quality bundt pan, I use Nordic...tfw 😊

You need cake goop! Equal parts by volume of vegetable shortening (softened, not melted!), flour and vegetable oil. Beat that till smooth. Apply a thin coat with a brush to your Bundt pan. Proceed with recipe. Allow pan to cool on a rack 10 minutes, no more, no less. Success guaranteed. If not, there’s something wrong with your pan, like the inside coating is damaged or it’s a cheap knock-off. Throw it out and get a new one lol. The goop can be kept in fridge till needed

I bake cakes every week for my restaurant. I have a few that I bake that are notorious for sticking ( this is one of them ) so for this particular cake I automatically do this, now my other cakes I just use my homemade cake release, Bakers Joy, or Pam Baking spray and that works great. Hope this answers your question. Tfw 😊

Has no one tried a simple can of spray called Bakers Joy????? I’m not a baker, but in my 54 years of life, I’ve never had a cake to stick using this. THE SECRET IS-- only spray right before you pour batter in or anything is naturally going to move. Work smart instead of hard is my motto along with plenty of common sense.
@coreilove Жыл бұрын
One thing I have plenty of is common sense... for all my cakes I use Bakers Joy, Pam Baking Spray, or my homemade cake release, this video is for the cakes that notoriously sticks, when all else fails. Different altitudes, change in climate, oven not calibrated properly, left in the pan too long, there are a plethora of things that can cause a cake to stick, So No, I'm not trying to make people work harder, I'm just fulfilling a need in a crunch when all else fails...tfw 😉
@Gryn651 Жыл бұрын
I have had the same success with Pam Baking Spray! And I do it right before the batter goes in and it works!
