Will it tip or will it flip? Skip to 4:00 to see directly. Reviews were lacking when I purchased my Perception Outlaw fishing kayak a few months ago. This video aims to correct that.

What a great review that I'm sure a lot of us have been looking for for a while. I researched for months to find the right fishing kayak, as a heavier guy (6'2", 260lbs). It took me a long time to come across this yak, for whatever reason (brought one home today), and it's really nice to see a review that isn't reading us the spec sheet with a visual aid, and done by someone who isn't a buck-twenty soaking wet with a brick in each pocket.

I think the cup holder size is fine I put a Powerade and a squared off bottle in it and they fit fine also the handles try to tighten them I have had mine for a year almost 2 and they have not came loose your must have not been all the way tight from the factory it is not a common problem. GREAT VIDEO THOUGH would recommend.

How did you strap it to your car? And how many straps did you use please

That paddle slot in the front is for holding the paddle while you STAND, not for sitting use. Its extremely functional.

There is also one in the mesh for if you are sitting down.

Nice review. Do you think it would flip in saltwater waves? I mean not offshore but coastal water like pier or bridge fishing?
@HunterPlays113 жыл бұрын
If you try to flip it yes if you don’t try to flip it will not flip I had mine taking in water I had it leaned so far over and it wouldn’t not flip

Nice vid. But that first paddle holder that you don't like is for when you are standing. It makes it easier to grab. I love mine. Works great if you know how to use it. I just added more rails on the sides and put bigger bolts in place of the originals in the main rails. Don't forget to add some type of silicon to all the screw holes. The cup holder I bought a cup incert that fits in the holder that fills it in. Holds multiple size cups snugly. There's always things you can do to upgrade what you got. Including your wife. Just kidding.. Good luck and the most important thing, have fun

how are the permanent foot rests? do you hit your knees when paddling? in short so im wondering if i would be able to reach them.

Lol and the cup holder is made for use of a can huggie. Handles on the side are wobbly because they are metal mounted in roto-molded plastic. Think about these things and you’ll see their reasoning. Ive seen no viable complaint in ANY video about the Outlaw. Its very thought through design is to accommodate one type of person, the fisherman. The seat height alone is evidence of that. Good review overall bud. I also noticed how the kayak pushed away when tipping. This is extremely important. Most people who drown from kayak use have head injury, caused by the kayak coming over on top of them and the side hitting them on the head. This is taught in the Boy Scouts, and how to avoid it happening. Great vid, congratulations on your yak!

It is a fishing kayak, not a stand up paddle board that you are trying to do tricks on. An angler would not walk from end to end like that!

I don’t know how to feel about it honestly in regards to a paddle board. I can stand,sight fish and pole this kayak. I’m not standing on the front doing 360s or anything crazy , but it is fairly stable !
