I thought this was a great video to make and will be I hope a series. I've done almost everything I can not to grow, silly channel name to obscure off the wall titles. But then I've had big earning YT channels in the past, since 2008. But shut them down just to have fun now. I think you have one of the most important qualities needed, and that is that trendy- authenticity, You give the impression that you give warts and all reviews, and you're not all out to sell your merch. I think at last you're growing, and you did it without clickbait or taking your top off for a moob shot. I'm genuinely cheering you on.

Well, that was quite interesting, it filled in a few blanks for me TBH. I'd harboured thoughts about having a go at this Y/tube malarkey, maybe something a bit bikey mixed with some doggy adventures but I reckon having heard your advice that I'm probably best out of it cos I'm not very techy.... I'll just continue to enjoy your output (and others) and be content with that! Enjoyed the journey down through Starcross etc, love it down there.👍

I think you missed a trick by not naming your channel Exmouth Biker, I seem to hear that channel being mentioned all over the place. It's gaining serious traction. Obviously that channel name would have been more applicable to you, living as you do in the fair hamlet of Exmouth. However, channel name mistake aside, your channel seems to be doing reasonably well, so maybe there is some truth in what you are telling us here. If I ever decide to try to get better at KZbin ( which seems unlikely to be honest ! ) then I will return to this video for further assistance. Lovely to see you slicing through the Exmouth traffic on the Meaty. Did you have chaps on ? Thinking that might have been the reason that other cruiser rider gave you a nod mate. You're channel has some good regulars and it's doing very well, you seem to have more uk based subs than French ones. Really odd that. Is all a game but as we know meeting new folk is what it's all about.... Unless they lead one astray and get you to eat dumb things. Hope it both will mate

@@exeterrider Ah that makes sense. I was wondering why you had a touring screen on when you told me that you were thinking about getting just the fly screen. Must be great having unreleased videos that are more than one day old ! Can't say I've ever experienced it myself. Yes. As you say, I've got to know so many cool people through having the channel and these days, as long as they watch, that's all I care about. I think it would be easy to grow the channel by coming up with a ton of click bait titles and thumbnails but I'm really not bothered about views or subs. I know there are a few hundred nutters out there who will click on any video I put out. That'll do me. Oh, that and the odd live show with some nutter from Exmouth of course. Looking forward to your hot chip Dave ? I keep looking at mine longingly. It's taking all of my willpower to not eat them before the show ! Enjoy the pool ! I agree, content is king and videos that I did 10 years or more ago are still getting views, particularly of bikes I've ridden, because even after 10 years, someone might be in the market for one secondhand. I'm not really sure on the the Tags vs Hashtags bit tho', are they one and the same or different??

Name thing. Top tip: Don't name your channel after your current motorcycle 😂 My honest belief is pure motovlogging is a bit of a dead duck. There's so much competition for views. How to do type vids often do well, Also, some of the most successful channels do great thumbnails. Title and thumbnail are key to get people to actually click on your vid. Watch time (how long viewers say watching) is key to how much KZbin share your vid. I think you do a good mix of vids. I especially like the campaigning ones about the road closures.

Many like the campaign ones... I tend to disagree with many who say vlogging is dead. I think it's still very much alive, it's a matter of keeping it fresh I think and short is key. I guess you know you can easily change your channel name, it can be done in studio, let me know if you want me to show you how 👍

Great tips there ER although I've already mucked up on the channel name choice are there are too many with similar names. I'm noticing though that this platform is playing games with the smaller channels, likes, comments and even subs are being removed. Once upon a time that would be due to what it considered touchy content but now it seems it's only interested in the generation of funds.

Not just smaller channels mate.... Its hard to know what they want and it's constantly changing. It's a grind as you know mate. Yes they do want to earn from it, having said that they were making a loss for years. Thanks 👍 Good fun though
