Hi, I've been listening to you guys for awhile and have Stephen's books . Watching you on my phone would like to know if I would have to get a laptop to be able to join in you course.

Hi Esther. No. Joey from Western Kentucky - who was featured in our video last week because he just licensed an idea - does not have a computer and used only his phone for the program and to contact potential licensees. You can do this! inventright.com/what-we-offer/bootcamp-coaching

great show the question is do I contact the companies that I'm improving the product and what would happen next would I get paid for it or they going to steal it
@inventRight7 жыл бұрын
Hugely important question! We've written dozens of articles about how to get in to companies looking for ideas. You can find them all here: www.inventright.com/help/licensing-library.

Building prototypes is addictive. Inventing for the marketplace takes discipline. I may need to attend a prototyperaholics rehab progam ;-)

So, so true! I don't think you're alone in feeling this way :) Thanks for sharing.

Yeah, you sure nailed it there but the whole thing can be pretty addicitive. But with far more positive aspects than most addictions. Focus on the tough essentials and mamage your expectations and you'll generally do OK.

Hi S and A. I am watching your vids`. The mistake I am making is overthinking. I have an idea to sell to market. I have wasted 2 days making a database, with all the potential companies details. now i did a google patent search and it already exists. ;-( I would olove to see a list from a-z ot 1-10 etc. I will buy the 2 books at the end of the month when I get my pittance for my sweat. thanks chaps. Dave in the UK.

Thank you for sharing your story Dave! Yes, a preliminary search early on to see if your product idea is indeed new is very important.

I have a few problem with these kind of business i would like to ask questions and hope you can reply and not just reply and say thanks for subs. Please reply to my questions if you did care for people to support you in turn by replying to your audience questions 1. These method where you go to china alibaba, browse their inventory and make small improvement can measly be replicate by others and big company if they want it too dont you think? 2. If you try to make small improvement even in china you need to meet MOQ or wiling to pay for the mold fee that can range as low as $3000 - $5000 and thats not cheap at all 3. These kind of business model will soon come to a point of saturation as more and private label type of business start pouring in on amazon. You wont be able to scale to a multi million $ or billion $ if you lucky to make into a million with china made private label product well you so lucky.

If you watch more of the inventRightTV videos, you will see that they're not at all talking about building a company and scaling it. Licensing the idea is what they're talking about, which is where an existing company pays you royalties to make, market, and sell your product, instead. The idea would be to find companies that already make ALMOST the same thing, and then get them to license, aka "rent," your small and easy but valuable improvement. That way, they don't have to change much to produce your improvement, and they already know that a very similar product is succeeding in the market.

but you still need to pay for prototype correct and not just idea in a piece of paper right? Thats what i am saying if you go straight to chinese manufacture and give them the drawing of your product to make it they will either tell you to meet the MOQ or pay for the mold. If you use chinese manufacture to create your prototype they can easily and go around to steal it. Any other place to make your prototype other than straight to manufacture? What if you are not a handyman that put everything together by yourself what should you do than? hire people or you can find local supply shop, provide the drawing and ask them to make it for you?
@jacobkline61467 жыл бұрын
KojinHakai Oh, I see now: prototyping. Are you hoping to take a product to Market in China? I'm not sure if the methods discussed by invent right apply to China, you would have to ask them about that. According to the material that they present, they don't ever build a prototype until they have been calling companies and they have found a company that is interested enough to ask for one. these guys will contact manufacturers with only a sell sheet, depending on the industry. again, I'm not sure about China, because I have heard that they are a risky place where intellectual property is involved.
@kibonohikari88787 жыл бұрын
If it not China that means build your prototype in the US thats way more expensive right? you also need to find out the manufacture cost in the US too right? How about if your product have the mechanic and electrical element part to it how can you even imagine how the product work if you dont have mechanical/ electrical engineering background?
