Great stuff! My glasses were bent after I trod on them! So got replacement frames off ebay but was paranoid about changing the lenses. Followed this and the swap over was quite easy. So that's saved hundreds, many thanks.

Super helpful, great tip on using the strip to get the wire on. I made the strip with a piece of duck tape folder in quarter inche widths worked perfectly!

Thanks so much! I have two different magnification necessities but I cannot afford to see an optometrist. On Amazon I can buy 2 sets and I cannot find any with blue light blocking other than half frames so it'll just be $30 for the two rather than hundreds to get "designer" glasses. Also, get a low pass filter for your lavalier.

Thank you sir. I used a laminated business card and cut a thin strip off it. Thanks

Hi, what’s the name of blue thingy on lenses?
@UseMyFrame5 ай бұрын
It’s called a block that’s used to hold the lens while being cut to fit the frame.

Hey there, I was just wondering if you would be able to advise me on something? I have a pair of glasses and they have broken on me in the last few days. They're a pair I love and I found the frame and bought them online (they're many years out of production). I think I have made a mistake, however, the Frames share the same model number, they have slightly different specs (and colour), the replacement pair are 58-18-145 and my pair are 56-17-140. They are MENRAD/Jaguar 33572. Perhaps you'd know if I'll experience problems with this?

Oh, and thanks! Your video helped me reseat my lens last year!

The replacement pair will probably be too big. First I would double check the correct model number was ordered and sent. If so, then they may have just modified the frame style from year to year (similar to cars; e.g. a 2020 Ford Focus may be slightly different from a 2024 Ford Focus, etc.). When ordering glasses online and you want the exact match, make sure all the numbers match from your old frame to the new frame you're ordering because even the smallest differences in frame size can make the difference between the lenses being too small or too big.

Don't take much pressure from your fingernail to scratch the lense. Those fish lines break easy if you have to adjust the frame to fit. I have damaged so many. I usually leave it because it's not noticeable. Love my rimless. But not durable. I swap them out once a year anyway because of changing prescription. I'm not to picky. I been getting the same frames for 10 years. At 50 bucks a pop why care to much. Those stores are expensive and do shoddy work. I have yet to get a scratched lens from the online I buy. Rimless are always fashionable. Hard to get a bad looking frame. Other types of frames your taking a big chance on how they would look.

Why only show half the job? Putting the string in is at least half the job! Also, what is the paper you used?

God love him, but he's totally wrong about removing these lenses. Just a tiny bit of research will prove that you don't need a pushpin (?) or a metal tool (?) to remove/install the cord, you only need a small piece of ribbon. If you use metal objects you're likely to F up your lenses.
