Great lesson. I use to hear “it’s difficult” & hearing that made it difficult. Many yrs. of practice later & I don’t think things are difficult. Just movements that I may have not made before.

I wish there were written visuals like it was in say judith's video...d p tkp d tkp..even me who's such a tubelight could actually play mid eastern rhytms so well after that. i can follow that kinda visuals easier than 4th notes and 16th notes etc etc.

You can create your own visuals based on the information in this video. No need to use traditional western-style notation, but anything that helps you is valid and useful.

Something very interesting is happening in the reflections on the rim around the 6:30 mark or so. Maybe you are using LED lights for your studio that pulse at a very high (usually invisible) frequency and this is interacting with the (rolling) shutter speed on your video camera?

Then again the lines run diagonally so maybe that explanation does not make any sense. Something from the video processing/compositing software with strong highlights?
