Really great tips. Can't wait to put them into action. Thinking of letting the bar out as letting it take a big breath is a great analogy. Thanks!

These are seriously the videos I have been wanting for so long now. Stoked to put this into practice - also, Shaun might be my male kiting counterpart... I don't hear anyone explain sheeting in the same way I do and he does! Not power/depower, but more steering/ less steering. And I also talk to my students about letting the kite breathe and use a dark analogy about the kite being lungs and if you hold the bar in it suffocates the kite. I'll be sure to give a shoutout on my VLOG!!!! IT's COMING ;)

wow excellent observations you're making me think of my riding when I do those subtle adjustments.. a lot of it is intuitive but it helps to understand why.. bang on there. excellent footage too.

I appreciate you talking about letting the bar out, so important. I most noticed its use when on the way down from a jump, letting the bar out slightly helps the kite fly over your head before a heli loop. I used to just keep the bar pinned during a jump but that takes all the speed out of the kite and makes the heli loop happen much lower in the window giving you a lot more landing speed but less upwards lift.

I mentioned this one to Shaun. We’re going to link up again for more. It’s kind of fun as big air is such a different discipline. It’s like learning a new sport hanging with him. Haha stand by - Rygo

I really liked that first tip. I am looking at how to get an extra few meters higher on the Woo and I think that might be the ticket to help me break the PB

this is great advice, well explained. Thanks! I sometimes wonder why I don't get much height, and the bar trick is so obvious but i'm damn sure i forget to do this correctly in the 'heat of the moment' :-)

Good stuff. Would b nice to see ur opinion in between atmos and atmos carbon. I am 75kg can jump 10m on my orbit and thinking at a 138. If I am supper lit and choppy i guess the 138 will be better than the 141. I usually kite in chop when its very windy and my objective is to go as high as possible... advice?thanks

Thanks for the tipps. I'll try it next time. I have another question though. I'm comfortable doing jumps ranging between 4 and 6m (13 - 20 ft). But going higher is really tricky, because I cannot hold my edge with the kite that high (obviously). So my question is this: when really powered up with the kite low, where is the kite on take off? Is it a bit more in front of you and travels up while you're ascending? - Also how do you deal with choppy water? I see the other guys still boosting like crazy, but I can't figure it out 😂

Push the front foot forward, like pressing on an accelerator. This will build up speed, keep the back leg cocked and kick it out as you jump to push upwind.
@jondeur26864 жыл бұрын
When you say “back in the wind window” what do you mean? Does it mean the kite is flying more behind you than in front of you? Or Does it mean the kite is flying lower and closer to the horizon? I’ve been jumping for years but I’ve gotten very frustrated because I’m just not jumping high enough or consistently enough. Just feel like I’m really missing something.
@Gorilla7814 жыл бұрын
It means deeper in the window. So more downwind or in front of you than further forward to the side of window. kzbin.info/www/bejne/noOxY3mDrMehqNE

Guess I’m dense. What’s a pushing hand or pulling hand?
@yolobro124 жыл бұрын
If you want the kite to move left you use your left hand to pull and your right to push on the bar
