This helped a ton. We are in store for some nuking winds the next few days (Maui). Hopefully I get the nerve to throw a loop! My last loop didn't end so well so I'm heady. Always good to get some more insight. Thanks for a rad video as always Rygo (and Shaun).

Thanks for the great video! Would you recommend a specific shape of kite to help with kiteloop progression? Initially I was using a Cabrinha FX, but my feeling was that kiteloops were much more powerful compared to more hybrid kite like the Orbit for instance (and as a beginner learning kiteloops, you are not really after powerful kiteloop i'd say)

Shaun you forgot to cover line length. I remember trying out kiteloops with 20M lines on 9M GTS and going wtf! It's larger not smaller! lol and you were like "Rad!" I'm like NO! lol

quicker though, definitely shorter lines are better for looping IMO.

Hey man thanks for the insight, so... got a 9m orbit with the standard navigator 20m lines. How high do I need to jump before I can loop safely? some vid on the internet says never loop between 5-7/10m cos it wont catch you. from your footage I get the feeling I could get the kite around with a 5m jump..thanks

Hey mate, I also have Orbit 7, 8, and 9m, standard lines are 22m. Since I'm very light (60kg) I actually need to start the loop later and higher with the 9m and below 7-8m height there's no way it can catch me properly (except with shorter lines). Whereas with the 7m Orbit from 6m height it catches me easily and I have the time for a heliloop before landing. The key is to be well powered up throughout the whole jump, if you feel there's not much line tension then don't loop it!

@@francoiscarro4974 hey man, thanks so much for the info, very helpful! :) So as my cheapest option is to shorten the lines, would you say 20m lines would make the 9 equivalent to an 8 or do I need 19-18m lines? cheers

@@ignaciosernacampillo9527 when I want to loop the 9m I usually use 20m lines. It also depends on your weight, I'm so light that when I loop the 9, the kite pulls me so much that I loose the line tension, the loop becomes slower and I need to be really high to swing back under the kite and get some tension back. If you're heavier than me, let's say 75kg and above you shouldn't have this issue, I found out that with the Orbit, 8m and below is my size for loops. (you can check some loops with the 9m and 20m lines here: instagram.com/p/CFWq8euDjez/?igshid=1ah98ikkkzbg9)

@@francoiscarro4974 Hi again, sick video on instagram :D, yo do need a lot of height and it barely catches you...., where do you get your extensions? North doest seem to sell anything beside the 10m "standar second half" thanks
