Great video. I’ve been experimenting with my garden hose and the flat fan setting. I know it’s not removing it all, but it looks so much better and way faster than power washing. I live on a dirt road so I know how annoying the carpet wheel wells are. Definitely will try it with DIY rinseless.

I typically coat the "carpeted" & traditional plastic inners with a sprayable tire/ plastic dressing every time. Even the upper portion where you don't see. Not only does it look good but it makes it harder for future contaminants to bond. The extra 2 minutes pays off in future time-saved cleaning!!

I simply use All Clean diluted 15:1 and then rinse using a pressure washer powered by a tater digger. The extra power takes me about two to three minutes per wheel on average. Once clean they clean quickly but vehicles who live in car washes take about four minutes.
@diydetailofficial
@diydetailofficial Жыл бұрын
interesting, so cars that regularly go through car washes take longer to clean for the wheel wells?
@neilwalker5041

@@diydetailofficial it is a problem here in Nashville for vehicles which have gone through car washes for years. The inner barrel is black and I am having to use Meguiars Wheel Brightened diluted 1:1. Some car washes are applying a type of tire coating and my tire brush turns jet black after one pass and it does not come out of the brush. I am guessing the tire dressing is what is making the wheel barrels black too.

How would one take off white street paint from "carpeted" wheel wells? The knuckleheads failed to post the wet paint signs. I used goof off for the side skirts. You can't use goof off on rubber, so I'm I not using for wells. Thank you

Unfortunately it’s best to leave it there and allow the abrasion of what the tires throw at it eventually wear it away. Another popular option is spray paint , and finally simply replace them.

@diydetailofficial

road paint is a real pain, especially on carpeted wheel wells...but really, on any wheel wells. You might not like this answer but once you have paint on wheel wells you might consider replacing them to get them perfect again:) the amount of time, product and effort required (paired with the possibly underwhelming results) is a detailer's nightmare
