When it comes to non-rubber carpets, i prefer just whipping em off with my bare hands from the backside. Cant get it out of the material otherwise, plus we live beside a gravel road.. Its also extremely fast compared to any vacuming. You can do it before you leave, then just wash hands before grabbin the steering wheel, or use gloves if ur in a rush..

So nice to see a professional do this so I know I am not the only one! Here in Sweden the winters are long and the roads are dirty as hell to say the least. So every summer on my vacation I take 1-2 days to remove the wheels and even the arch carpenters and clean both the carpenters and the everything underneath them. It´s a lot of work and everyone think´s that I am mad but hey, I believe it make´s my car to get a longer life, saving it from rust and wear.

After cleaning them on my van I spray them with a fabric dye. I use an 8 oz bottle of RIT black dye in a 24 oz spray bottle and then fill the rest of the way with distilled water. After the arches are clean and dry I give them a light spray which I allow to dry and then rinse later with fresh water. This restores their color to like new. Love your videos by the way...great voice overs bro. :)

I own a few older and higher mileage cars that I plan to keep, so this kind of job gives me a perfect opportunity to get up close and inspect all the inner bodywork, arches, suspension and other components for rust or wear once cleaned off. Once clean I like to add rust protection in the form of something like Bilt Hamber's Dynax S-50 or UC anti-corrosove clear wax...an ultra satisfying OCD job 😂

Thanks for the 303 Fabric Guard heads-up, CCG. Top tip and one I shall be taking up. I regularly clean my carpeted wheel arches with the wheels off during the summer months, and pressure wash them down during the winter. In fact, I spend more time cleaning the undersides than the top really as I just don't feel satisfied if I know what's lurking underneath a shiny exterior. It impresses the MOT tester too. It's a 2008 car and every year the Halfords MOT wallet raiders always look puzzled when declaring another PASS along with a comment such as 'it looks like a new car'. ;-)
