Keyota ok i think if you just wash your face when u get home from wearing a mask it can help prevent it! My skin broke out from masks then cleared up after 4 months and then when i went out w a mask and came home i washed my face and it didnt make me break out! But then the other day i went out and forgot to wash my face after and now im lowkey breaking out again 😭 so moral of the story if u wash ur face after wearing a mask it should help :)

I don't wear any makeup at work but just the moisture and rubbing of the mask wrecks havoc on my face . I really can't wait until we don't have to wear them . Thank you for mentioning sulfur. I will forever sing the praises of sulfur for acne treatment. It has worked wonders for me. The main problem I'm going to have wearing a mask is flushing. I have rosacea, and when my face is in a hot environment for long periods of time, the skin starts to flush. Unfortunately, since breathing under the mask inevitably creates warmth, there's not really a whole hell of a lot I can do about it. Thank you for the video! You are well informed and always address relevant topics.

Rosacea and heat is tricky! I would suggest an anti-inflammatory ingredient like niacinamide - it could make a bit of a difference but the heat might just be too much!

I have fair senitive skin and La Roche Posay Cicaplast Baume B5 is the best for irritations. I use it for years. It heals your skin in no time and makes it stronger to resist irritations. But I definitely did have to see a dermatologist to sort out the immense cystic acne breakouts I started getting after having to don the enhance PPE day in and day out. The oral meds are definitely helping and my face doesn't hurt which is a plus. Keep your hands clean people!

I have a reusable Vogmask that I clean after every use with a hand sanitizing wipe. It's not completely sterile but good enough for everyday use outside of medical settings. And I make sure to wash my face after wearing it too, with Cerave SA cleanser. I saw a good tip from Dr Pimple Popper about masks - if you have a baseball cap, you can put safety pins on the sides above your ears and loop your mask to those instead.

3:38 you are absolutely right! Warm water was cut off the other days. I was too lazy, so I decided to use cold water to wash my face. So thats why my face has broken out
@bigb0yice4 жыл бұрын
hm. funny you say that cuz switching from obsessing over my acne and being very very meticulous with everything i did to my skin, never even being able to touch it, to the way i deal w it all now, is insanely helpful. every morning i wash my face with pure ice cold water, thats it. then moisturize. at night, same thing, just pure cold water, and moisturize. i only ever wash my face with a gentle cleanser like cetaphil, every other day in the shower-- or if im breaking out ill use african black soap in the shower. the shower opens my pores, and when im done, ice cold water!!! but thats really the only time i ever use warm water. my acne is completely gone by literally letting go, and going to just barebones stuff. i even touch my face now lol! i dont really get many issues from masks, bc i very often will wear a brand new one, and i only really have to wear them on public transport and at my doctors. i live in a super humid place so ive struggled a lottttt. but ye. cold water is the best lol. cleared up my years of acne.

I’m pretty sure the acne I developed around my jawline/chin (places I normally don’t get acne) are from the masks but I’m also trying to rule out irritation/ fungal acne so for the next two weeks I’ll focus on hydrating my skin and if it’s not that then I’ll use benzoyl peroxide/ salicylic acid 😅. Three weeks ago I was diagnosed with cellulitis on my nose from wearing a masque! My immune system was weakened more than it already was previously [due to other health problems] and I was even more at risk for contracting Covid-19. Even if you don't have the same skin issues I have -- acne, eczema, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome [causing my skin to be fragile] -- I urge everyone to be super careful with your skin right now. I was warned that if facial cellulitis isn't treated quickly it could spread and cause blindness or meningitis.

Thanks so much for this terrific advice! I’ve been wondering whether or not I ought to be using a barrier cream under my cloth mask, and now I know that it’s something I should try 👍🏼. What I would LOVE to know, however, is how to integrate my physical sunscreen with my mask wearing - what do you think? //butting in// I have KP and in addition to gentle manual exfoliation with a washcloth when bathing, I've found that it helps my KP if I apply BHA/salicylic acid regularly. When I use a cotton pad to apply the BHA to my face and neck, I use the leftover on the pad to wipe around my cuticles and then wherever I have KP. My husband has psoriasis and uses a BHA lotion for it; that would help KP too.
