I would not recommend using plastic bottles while growing food. Micro plastics seeping into the soil and into my food doesn't sound healthy.

The green is spring onion much more tastier than the onion bulb...so u get to use the same onion over and over and have endless supply of spring onion or you can make a profit from selling it.

In this instance, it's only the green portion that's used... when the onions were planted the bottom ( root end was removed ) the onion will not root therefore it will not grow, it will only produce the green portion... IF you plant onion seeds or onion sets ( very small onions ) then you will harvest both onions and the greens as well... I prefer the onions and greens both system because you reap two rewards for your time invested....

Most of you have completely missed the point. It is not the onion ball but stuff that gets harvested regularly but rather the tall skinny green shoots. You know the veggie that resembles Leeks? Same concept.

I’m confused..seed packets are one dollar and onions already grown a one lb bag $3 so how many already developed onion bags did u buy? When u planted the onion u bought but when planted and got back an extra one, I’d get it but u got one for one..same onion..I just call that a switcharoo..explain please
