In this video I work with Hans Peter Minderhoud to improve Harvey's flying changes. He suggests doing them from the counter-canter on the wall and making sure that I ride forward to the change.

Hi Amelia, I have just subscribed today after Joseph reminded us to do on one of his videos. I have been watching him the past few months and I look forward to viewing more of your videos. As a chiropractor for humans and horses as well as an avid equestrian I would like to share with you a helpful hint about "Dents and Dings." Your horse has visible Dents in the points of both shoulders, and one to the left of his tail. These dents are not cosmetic, they indicate that there was a blunt trauma such as a kick that caused a hematoma. "RedFlags" as I call them when I teach. As the hematoma resolved it developed scar tissue which is causes restriction that may be purely "mechanical", or a painful myofascial restrictions or both. if one understands the words of Maestre Nuno Oliveira that a flying change is nothing else than to start new canter while cantering - considering that one is able to start canter from walk, as if one canters but imagines starting new canter from walk while he is cantering - than rider never change the whole neck in the canter bringing the horse out of balance before a change only for a note 6 flying change , or easy question : would one change the whole neck of horse to left and right as preparation before trying to start a collected walk to canter transition on its hind legs ? ....smile ....think about ....smile
