What you said about the colors, the reason why they combine very well is because those colors are side by side in the color scale, for those who are interested in this, look for videos on color theory, you will see the reason why this happens and the different color schemes that are often used in art. Also, I love cats.

I absolutely love the color combination you used! My usual favorites are a pale orange with a deep intense blue, but the purple also works really well! Purple isn't a color I normally use so I should definitely try it too :)

My favourite colour combination would have to be earthy shades of blue or green with darker shades of burgundy or maroon, I also find your line art style intriguing and unique! Keep up the great work

Just go for it! I used to be afraid of painting this way until I realized that it's way more fun to just plop colours down, so I started to do it more until I learned to control it more.

I tried it with a drawing I didn’t think was that great and it actually worked out really well! I just had to make sure I was sticking with the same undertones for the colors so it didn’t look all crazy. Also, the art piece is one of my favorites that I’ve done now.

My favourite colour combo is actually blue and brown. They can both be so rich and vibrant or more faded and I just really like using them together

My favorite color combination right now is maroon and gold. There’s so much you can do with them together, and I’m also realizing that I own a lot of maroon clothing. I really like to put browns and greys in that mix, too. Also, wonderful video, as always! I love the bushes.

This is a really nice piece and video, i love the colours and the overall calm vibe (and the fact that a cat’s in it is also a huge plus ^^). this turned out so beautiful! and yes I love the orange and purple combination, blue and yellow too! the last part which you mentioned about color pencils is so true, I like to add finishing touches with them, it really brings out the watercolor piece and makes it pop!

have you tried watercolour pencil? after you draw you can go over it with an almost dry brush and let it dissolve. that way it will blend in nicely with the watercolour underneath. also, i find a regular colour pencil underdrawing doesn't work with watercolour for me because the wax/oil of the pencil repels the water.

The first time I practiced watercolors, I used an ordinary sketchpad, 90 lb i think. When I switched to (cheap) watercolor paper, I was amazed at the difference. Then when I switched to cotton watercolor paper I was amazed once more lmao. I was more impressed by the difference in paper quality than the difference between the cheap beginner watercolors and professional ones that I used 😅

You've grown to be one of my favourite artists on youtube together with Dina Norlund and Chris Hong this (last?) year! There's just something in your constant experimenting and improving that makes me adore your works and your work ethic. I was wondering tho, do you have any art books that you would recommend regarding using color/basic art principals and such? Or is it all just in the repetition of doing studies and what you love enough to improve? As for what I drew while listening and watching your art piece come to life, I decided to give looser sketching a go again and doodled some loose ballet dancers from memory. Kinda preparing myself mentally to continue the work on a love story between a ballet dancer and a photography girl she meets one day. JelArts It’s likely bc there’s a lot of people saying stuff about recognizing silhouettes & digital artists with smooth lineless art, something about having to define the silhouette with lines feels like defeat or like I’m just not trying hard enough -BUT not everything irl is recognized on sight! So we’re imitating rl!
