When I was a kid, I just ate plain. We ate out of the gsrden there was no chemicals in our gsrden.. My dad wouldn't allow process cereal in our home. Life was so simple back then, and I made my own bread from scratch at 15. We had well water. One a month or once everything 2 months, it was a treat to have mcdonald's. I never really missed it because we had potatoes from the garden and made fries . .We had our own apples and our own cherry trees. Apricots. And dad never put any chemicals in the garden or sprayed them on our trees. It was not common to have vitamins in our home. Father hated plastics and said it was going to destroy our environment. That was in the 60s. We had canned food but not much.. The meat was from a local bucher. The world is so different 12:16

I feel like crying. It’s going to be hard enough to get a meal that doesn’t include high histamine food, then I have to cook every night rather than batch cook, stop eating chocolate , and there’s no snacks I can eat but some fruits …..all snacks have addictive in them. I thought it would be hard enough getting low cal snacks without chocolate in them now I basically can’t snack at all. I’m trying to do an elimination diet for rosacea.

Thanks for sharing! I've had hives for over 6 months. I am allergic to Sulfa drugs and accidentally used Neosporin. This is what started my journey,into the fog of Benadryl. Funny I can think clearly when I'm on it. If I am not on it, I get histamine hitting my brain 10 x worse than it. I've tried acupuncture, different supplements and resonance therapy. Finally went to a regular doctor,I reacted to the steroid. I'm going to try these supplements. I'm also anemic,so I plan to eat more red meat. Thanks again!

But his explanation made no sense at this point, he talks about addatives, preservatives, nitrats . . . None of those is found in carbonated water . . . I have trubble with carbonated water but I see no logical connection to histamine with them
@Viv8ldi3 жыл бұрын
@@SingingSealRiana Carbonated water worsens your silent reflux (acid problems). My new doctor found out 1 month ago, that I have silent reflux and it was not really histamine or asthma. So maybe in this video he advises not to use sparkling water because it worsens acid issues and that can worsen real histamine issues. For example if you have histamine issues you are not allwoed to eat dark chocolate. If you have silent reflux, you are not allowed to eat dark chocolate. So wether you have one or the other or both, sparkling water will worsen it.

I’ve listened to a multitude of podcasts about low histamine foods. No one address how to eat when traveling. I’m not speaking on packing up my own foods. I’m speaking on maybe a short trip anywhere and getting a little hungry. There is not a fast food joint anywhere that can accommodate my eating habits. I had no choice the other day, out longer than anticipated. Against my better judgment and peer pressure I ate at a Wendy’s. I normally don’t eat at these fast food joints or restaurants to begin with., That was a big mistake, so much so my nose started bleeding. IDK, what does one do in a pinch? Should I take an antihistamine and eat whatever or maybe find a grocery store and grab an apple?

Not all can take quercetin due to COMT gene! What do l do?
@DrRichardHagmeyer Жыл бұрын
Great point! It’s not as simple as saying I can’t take quercertin because I have COMT SNP. What I have found is thst everything is dose dependent. Give you an example- green tea contains EGCG which has been shown to inhibit COMT enzyme. Does this mean that everyone with COMT gene (+\+) should avoid drinking green tea? Not at all- studies have shown that it would take someone drinking 10-15 cups of green tea to impact COMT gene. The point being is that it’s dose dependent and there are always work arounds in the land of Functional Medicine. 23 years of doing this… there’s always a work around 😉

Can you get tested for histamine intolerance:like by an allergist?
@GoingGreenMom Жыл бұрын
not really. I believe there is a test for histamine, but it is a snapshot in time. I was diagnosed by a functional because I had food sensitivity testing done, and most of what showed up were high histamine foods and that combined with health history and symptoms. Keep in mind allergy testing and sensitivity testing are different. I test negative for allergies, but have a laundry list of sensitivities. When I tried an allergist, she wound up testing specific foods that I knew I reacted to, and referred me back to my rhuemitologist because they came back negative so she said it was related to my Ehlers Danlos Diagnosis. Turns out MCAS symptoms are common in EDS patients. MCAS and PCOS are what I consider my root causes.
