As someone who lived and worked in Japan for 4 years, this is all true 😂 Got many LINE IDs but you get left on read if she’s not interested. Also if a Japanese girl likes you, expect her to say she LOVES you. They don’t have the same concept of gradual progression of attraction like in US/Canada. Both of the girls I dated in Japan confessed to me that they loved me after the first date. It surprised me but I liked it. Also you know you’re dating a Japanese woman when: She brings you many gifts like Japanese snacks and candies, especially to bring to your family Also may cook things like Yakisoba for you. She can be very possessive. They don’t like “playboys” (and foreign guys have that stereotype) In public, Japanese people are not very touchy but in private, you are very close/have a lot of skin-ship. I say this from experience: Western men have to become mind readers, learning to watch very small, subtle, indirect signals from Japanese women in order to win them over. In my experience they literally want you to guess accurately what they are thinking or feeling. Which is very VERY difficult since Japanese are not only trained to be polite, they are also trained to not show very much emotion around people they don't know well...particularly ANY kind of negative emotion, and especially in public. Additionally, that point about making a first date a "group date" where several friends go do something together...is often a way for a Japanese woman to feel more comfortable evaluating the foreign man. Japanese people place a lot of importance on doing things as a bonded group of people. The best way for a foreign guy to get an opening into a Japanese woman's heart is for him to build warm relationships with her "group". Whatever group. Friends. Co-workers. Family. etc., etc., etc. Also, it takes Japanese people much, much longer to fully evaluate a person and decide if they want to slowly inch toward a one-on-one relationship. Reason: Japanese people are trained from birth to be extremely meticulous, extremely careful, and to take everything into account before making a decision about certain things. Finally: That part about asking her dad (and mom) for permission to date his daughter with the goal of MARRIAGE...Marina and Yui aren't kidding. One will literally have to ask her father for her hand. OH...one last thing. Sometimes the eldest son (the girls older brother) will need to be asked permission, too. And you will NEED to get nice gifts, properly wrapped, for the Dad and the brother, of EQUAL value...better yet, the VERY SAME ITEM. They learn from birth to anticipate what other people want from very small gestures and very small changes in expression. So small, so subtle, the average westerner misses them until lots of repetitive experience is gained. They see this as a way of taking care of each other's needs. It's just the way they are. As a person who has lived in Japan, I think people are taking this "guessing game" the wrong way. Japanese people tend to avoid direct statements, especially with rejection or negative answers. To circumvent this, they try to drop hints so you can get their meaning. They also do this to help you save face since a rejection could look bad for the person who was rejected. For example: A Japanese person may say something like "You must be tired after this long day" to insinuate you should go to bed. I also want to mention that they don't do this to play games like many women do in the west. The intent for these "Guessing games" is to help you save face and not be rude. It can be difficult to tell sometimes but I assure you, it is done with good intentions.

I have been with a Japanese woman before and honestly the best way to approach them is simply being polite, considerate and have the ability to read air (atmosphere, mood, setting). Polite can be small things like returning the question she asked you. Keep the conversation open ended and listen intently what she is saying and make a conversation out of it. Considerate can be little things too like opening the door for her, walking on the car side of the sidewalk, pulling her chair out. Want to take it further? Offer her some of your food if you're out to lunch or dinner. That is a huge bonus. Reading air is important too because it ties to being considerate. She isn't talkative today? Ask what's wrong. She seems tense, worried, etc. Tell her that you're there to listen and if need be, give help. Guys, I have to say Japanese women (and any women) just want to be treated with kindness and respect. This is pretty much true since I do live in Japan. But of course different places in Japan vary. For example, in Okinawa because it’s very U.S. Military populated, the women really think differently. I think all girls around the world are all the same, some are more confident than the others. Some Asian women prefer Asian men, and some prefer white (but Asian men like me for example like all women, as long as they're beautiful LOL), western women will prefer shutting you down when they're not interested, and Asian women will prefer giving you excuses to cancel dates. The more traditional Asian women will prefer Asian men because of their culture similarity. I've been to Japan 9 times and I will be going again next month so I am financially stable..My brother is a former romance novel cover model and I have been 2nd place to him most of my adult life. So these girls in Japan were just a continuation of my situation with my brother. I don't speak much Japanese and I don't really have any game, so there is the obvious problem. I have stopped all contact with some of these girls and I hope to start over with a new group of friends..

Man I do so many cold approaches that it's almost ingrained in me what Japanese women respond to and find attractive in a man. First of all is of course Confidence and taking the lead Second is do NOT come on too strong by walking upto her and saying Hey I saw you and I find you beautiful black blah blah.... Rarely if ever works out Try to be more subtle about it like walk upto her and comment on her bag,hair,dress,eyes, anything interesting you notice about her etc and just keep walking with her do NOT try to stop her. Try to get in as much Japanese as possible so she'll be a bit interested in you and starts to open up. At this point take the lead a lil aggressively make her laugh and once you feel comfortable ask her for 'Nomikai' (Drinking) fuck that coffee shit, it won't get you anywhere! Then take her to Karaoke and close the deal lol

Only one thing didn't reflect reality: The part where Yui-san was asking Fadi to keep stepping back, to keep backing up until she was comfortable with the personal body space. That would be far too assertive for the average Japanese woman to ask. In reality, SHE would be the one to keep backing away. Fadi is from a middle eastern heritage where much closer body contact is comfortable. What would really happen in reality is, Yui-san would keep backing away, Fadi would step forward to follow her, and that'd go on and on and on until Fadi realized Yui really wanted to avoid being that close. Or until Yui found some polite excuse to break off and get away.

My Misses is Filipina and does the same “It’s up to you.”. When you ask her where she would like to go for dinner. She cannot get her head around the Western concept of “ladies first”. They're working a long hours and after that they go to 居酒屋(it's a kind of bar) with colleague and back in mid night. My father is coming back to 6pm sometimes he has overtime work. so it depends tho!11 I've had a boyfriend who is English teacher in school and he doesn't have a holiday because in Saturday and Sunday, he needs to teach sports club team. and we can't meet often then break up. There's no time for private. The scared thing is almost of all of them think it's usual. so that's why Japan's birth rate is low. I surprised to know Australia because shop close early time and work end up on the time.
