@@kotarisambasiva9670 Just be yourself, try to be calm and relaxed....most of what you'll be asked or discussing during the interview is based on what you put on your CV or cold email. If you ever get nervous try breathing in for 7 seconds and breathing out for 7 seconds.

There is not much difference. I guess the professor will probably introduce the research areas of the different students. You can ask the students questions about their research area. It will show your curiosity.

How far along do you think it is to reach out to supervisors, pls? For example, if you’re applying against fall of the next year, is the fall prior too early?

Its not too early....... admission deadline for Fall semester can be as early as January, Feb or March that year...... The earlier you start, the better.. But not more than 1 year before intended start date

You don't have to dress corporate. Business casual is acceptable

Thank you for making this video, Peter. What would you advise one to respond with when asked if you would love to come back to Nigeria and apply what you learnt? Some people say responding with "yes" is a red flag.

That is a sensitive question. I will suggest that if you are doing interview for masters position, it is wife for you to mention that you would love to do a PhD after your masters. Or if you are doing a PhD interview, it is wise to also mention that you would love to do a post doc after your PhD. That is important because it makes the professor see that the investment they are making in you is worth it. You can then add they in the new future, if you have the chance, you will give back to your home country in the best way you can.... So try to be in between when answering that question

@@melamela2247 For my interview, I read one of the prof's paper so that I can tell her why I am interested in working with her. I found areas of her research that resonated with mine; I had my career goals stated explicitly; I also mentioned the skills that I have acquired that I would be bringing to her lab; I also made sure to let her know what events have shaped my interests in that research and what I have done so far as regards my curiosity (if your MS thesis aligns with the interest, talk about it). You can send a thank you email...And then wait for about 1 ot 2 weeks for a decision. If you don't get any feedback that, you can send a follow up email.
