Great advice, can't stress the small lures enough. Just like musky fishing, the action is better with smaller lures and you will still have a chance at catching that big one.

i just got back from 3 weeks in northern sask chasing lakers, no monsters but such a good trip. i bought that mac attack rod and its very good quality and handled lakers no prob! always a fan of timber rods! keep up the good job mac!

Just a helex 7 is good. I like units that you can zoom in on the bottom. Most important thing is just to keep working the water collum to draw fish in!

You know, I have always used a pretty big chunk of meat. I have also always used a pretty big tube jig, because I like a faster falling presentation. That being said, I do terribly more often than not when I go for lakers. I will keep these tips in mind next time! Sweet vid
