Hi, I worked with Redken directly for 8 years and I learned permanent color needs full 45 minutes to process also s technique I apply is if I don't use the full mix at the last 10 minutes I mix it with a little bit of water and run it to the ends just to refresh it.

I will be cutting and processing my hair soon. Natural level 6. My hair has natural blonde highlights. I'm thinking this time around I'll use foils and highlight. I normally grab sections of my hair with foils. Using Schwarzkopf Bleach as in your tutorial White Hair + Extensions. Wish I can go to your state or you happen to come to NYC. I would book with you ASAP. Last year I traveled to Greece, Milos. Had my hair done by Toni. Thank you in advance Jessi

Hi Jessi, I love your videos! How do you get a dark root to lighten to an ashy blonde color? My hair is dyed and highlighted blonde and my root is about a level 3 and every time I get my roots dyed at any salon my roots pull warm even with ash colors. Do you ever have this problem? Is there anything that can be done or will my roots always pull orange because my hair is dark? Thanks Jessi.

Hi Jessi, great video, as always!!! Quick question, do you also apply the color blocker on the hairline when the client has gray? I've noticed gray hair is so resistant and sometimes you need to get the hairline and baby hairs very well saturated and when I use a color block you may run the risk of diluting the color and although you don't see the gray hairs while applying the color, they light up like a christmas tree, lol, after you've washed. Would you recommend the color block in this scenario?
@justjessiiii
@justjessiiii 7 жыл бұрын
great question! i would still use it but focus it lower on the face to make sure the baby hair are still being taken care of. or just apply the color and wipe away any stains after. usually clients will care more about their gray being covered rather than a little color on their face! haha
@sugrmag3

Sounds wonky, but I've found that good ole, plain Stridex (or equivalent) pads work Wonders for removing stains. The 'Sensitive skin' variety usually only uses .05-.1% salicylic acid and is gentler on the skin, or else dilute with rose water & which hazel down to .05-1%. Any generic 'Big Lots Special' Stridex Pads will do and are easy & cheap to work with. They're also grate for refreshing the T-zone after sitting under a heat lamp or hood dryer. The liquid on a QTip is perfect for removing stains from brow tint, just gently outlining the brow with the tip after removing the dye.

Can you also do a video on a root retouch where you have to match their color first? Like on a first time client color retouch? I feel like I have a hard time matching exactly. Especially with blondes! Like 9NN range or level 10 color retouched. It's always so hard for me. Thank you!

i would love to see this aswell ! mabey a highlift client consultation or a blonde tint retouch from a natural darkish level . i always get confused when to use a highlift or a tint on level 8/9/10s ... and when do you incorperate a reflect to counteract the warmth :) :) :

Wonderful. As always. Yes. I agree I would never use anything other than chromatics developer. It has an ODS. Oil delivery system. It's doesn't use peroxide so if you used regular developer it probably wouldn't work. I love that color line. It has no "give" so you have to place it with 1/8 partings. Great job!!!!!!

Great video and tips!👍🏼 I love the way you do a root touch, didn't think I'd learn anything, but surprisingly I did lol. I was always taught and maybe this is for the color line I use, but After you apply the color you have to leave the hair down in its natural state to allow air to flow through otherwise it won't process correctly. Have you heard of this before?
@justjessiiii
@justjessiiii 7 жыл бұрын
im glad you learned something! yes, you don't want to pull it back too tight because the hair needs to "breathe" but I like to pull it back loosely and comb just so its a cleaner application. as long as it's not too isolated from the air!

I've never heard of adding 15 minutes to developer. I've always done 30 mins on Demi or 10 vol and 35 on grey 20 vol. So if you are trying to get a natural level 3 to a level 6, for example.. You'd use 30 vol for 45 mins? Does it give it that extra bit of lift over the 30 minutes? I'm always afraid of getting hair too warm from leaving on too long.
@justjessiiii
@justjessiiii 7 жыл бұрын
it kind of depends on the color your doing and how much gray your working with! this has always worked for me, but sometimes I will leave it on longer. it is scary to leave it on longer when lifting, and thats when I use discretion and just watch the hair to see what it is doing!

I am confused too by the times, the higher developer the longer it sits.... I thought if you up it the less time you leave it.

thank you! root touch up starts at 65, extra mixes are 10, and the gloss at the bowl would be an added 10-25 depending on what i needed to use. i would include the olaplex treatment with it!

Why do you section out a rectangular section for the hairline and do it last? In school they teach us to just do 4 quadrants and start by coloring the hairline and then the edges of the quadrant sections, so I'm not sure why the hairline section was done last?
