Aloha! My hair is like the clients and I do my own highlights. I’m able to get that level blond using 20 vol by doing super thin sections, and super thin subsections. It takes quite a while to foil but it does give a super bright result. If you decide to do this maybe charge by the hour since it will take a long time. Good luck from Hawaii 🌈

I wish I could LOVE this video! I liked the more “educational” setting. It’s so fun to see a blend of your teacher side and you behind the chair on a normal day. I’ve always loved your videos, but this one was a step up for me!! I’m glad you addressed overlapping. It can be scary and I feel like you get a lot of crap for it 😂 so I’m glad you went in depth on that and WHY you believe it’s a good tool for you to use. Thanks for all the help over the years, you’ve aided in the type of stylist I am today! ❤️🎉

Rachel Blakey Overlapping is never a good idea, regardless of the use of Olaplex, if her client wasn’t already bright enough then that’s an application issue not the product.

Daisy, I love what you did here. I have been a stylist for over 30yrs, I've seen stylists make a lot of mistakes when they are applying Highlights. I love how your explaining everything step by step, down to what not to do, such as when you spoke about applying chunkier sections. I've seen Stylists take a section almost 1in in thickness for this and then wonder why their finished result is uneven and their are areas where the lighter bleed through. When I was in school I was always interested in Trichology, because I'm REDKEN Trained. Paying attention to the factors you spoke about ie: thickness, texture, not blowing out the cuticle layer while making sure the clients hair is protected at all times is really key to having Amazing ultra light blondes. And you truly explain everything clearly, this Color is Truly a Work of Art. Thanks for the lesson.

i would find it impossible to do this on a normal client in a salon, as we only have 1 hr for application, looks nice but lets be honest, would take more then 3 hours from beginning to end so its not salon doable for one appointment...i mean i would have to do this full head in an hour,then i could have another full head highlights while waiting for the 1st one to be ready, after finishing the 2nd one or mid way ,back to first one, i would check the back and rinse it if needed after around 30 min) then tone...its hectic...and not every hair type is the same or behaves as you would expect...hope other stylists can share their point of view too;-)

Thank you for your awesome tutorial! I have a question: I'm in school, but do you have any suggestions for thin/fine hair that is porous that lightens extremely quickly? They tell us to start timing lightener or color after the whole head is done, but for my particular type of hair it seems to fully lighten on one side before the other side is finished.

@priscillanieto33223 жыл бұрын
Start with 10 vol and go up in developer as you foil. The power of the lightening action is in the lightener itself. The developer just determines how fast or not the product lightens. Also, starting in the back with your foils is great because that's the darkest part of the hair and usually takes longer to lighten. Hope this helps!

Are you putting lightener over the pre-existing blonde because you’re using olaplex? Do you want her ends to be brighter than they already are? I see some of the ends being left out but, I think the pattern is nice and possibly efficient (?), I don’t think the integrity of the hair is being preserved.

@silkesilke1005 жыл бұрын
With thick hair i also feel like the babylights get lost in the hair. I think it's always good to do babylights around the hairline for a soft growout but for the majority of the head I will take regular highlights
