M. Lynne Newton, my older brother had a Risk game, too. He did end up traveling quite a bit. However, he & his buddies played more Dungeons & Dragons than most of the other games of the day.

I have heard the swastika referred to as WHORLING LOGS when used as indiginous people's decoration. Also, POSSIBLY, the configuration of the swastika is different than the whorling logs pattern.

Good morning George, you have a really beautifull vlog, and it's amazing to see such a lot of beautifull US collectables.The prices are breathtaking low, and the KFC teadispencer I want to have it home.It would be surely the only one in Europ.But to buy expensive is no art, to buy cheap is the art, and if there is a story behind, all the better.Greatings from Germany.
@TheAntiqueNomad
@TheAntiqueNomad 2 жыл бұрын
I'm surprised the tea dispenser appeals to you, but I agree! It would be the only one in Europe I think. The prices were rather good at this market, I think it's been so long since the Washington State markets were open that dealers have accumulated a lot there.
@CONSTELLATION_PEGASUS

Hey George! That KFC tea dispenser was nice! I wouldn't mind having that. Those jewelry boxes all looked really nice. Was that a Carnival Glass whiskey bottle above the circus mags? That Roseville wall vase was fantastic! I really liked that cherub dresser box. That cranberry epergne was fantastic! Was the scenic vase, in the display case, Bristol? It looked to be Bristol, to me. I liked that one. That Victorian fern stand would've come home with me. That was a steal of a price. I would love to have the 20 Mule Team litho! I have a complete 1950's plastic model kit of the 20 Mule Team. $7.00 was a really good price for the Big Little books. I have a thing for the bamboo furniture, That was a nice piece. Those decorated mercury glass pieces were beautiful. Really nice items there! Thanks for the take-along!!!
@TheAntiqueNomad
@TheAntiqueNomad 2 жыл бұрын
Hi again! I"m glad you got to see this one, it had more of your caliber of collectible I think. The KFC dispenser was such a surprise to see there for me! It was a carnival whiskey bottle, I should've spent a moment on that. The fern stand was so cheap! I love the 20 Mule Team litho, I had a wonderful time in Death Valley (oddly enough) and have a connection to that story from seeing where it was. I've sold a few of the plastic model but never had the print. I also have a thing for bamboo furniture! Glad you enjoyed it and I'll be out looking for more
@CONSTELLATION_PEGASUS
@CONSTELLATION_PEGASUS 2 жыл бұрын
@@TheAntiqueNomad Yes, this one had items more in my line of interest. Do you remember the price on the Carnival Glass whiskey bottle? I have several CG bottles, but not a whiskey bottle. That fern stand was at a give-away price. I don't think I could've left it there. I'd really like to have a 20 Mule Team litho like that. The history of the 20 Mule Team is fascinating. They maneuvered like a well-oiled Swiss watch. I really did enjoy this premiere!

The swastika thing is interesting When I visited India and saw examples of the top ‘leg’ facing left I was told that was the ‘lucky ‘ version and that the Nazis appropriated it and the top leg on theirs faced right Ive just Googled it and visually without doing a deep dive, it appears both orientations can be used for luck ….

Your voice is always mesmerizing. It's funny, I can be asleep until I hear your voice. I know a good video is in store. This was an exceptional video. Display is so important. Having something to draw your eye in whether it's movement,color,repetition,juxtaposition, light, sound,etc. Such beautiful, interesting objects. We get eye candy but also the history of an item, and how to work a show to your own advantage.

I'm glad this one really hit you right! I agree about display, you have to think about it, even if it looks cluttered it must be organized and shoppable. I appreciate your understanding of it all!

@@TheAntiqueNomad you see something. Maybe it's an unconscious something like light on a colored piece of glass. Then your eye keeps moving. You have that knack. You get the eye moving, the person stops, they say hello, and hopefully you have a sale. For me, I do a walk through but I go back to the displays that catch my eye. Sometimes 2 or 3 times.

Back from Beantown, interesting trip. It was recommended that we skip Elephant's Trunk and Brimfield, so we did. Neither place is good for someone with a walking handicap, I have Parkinson's and the prices are now for the crazy money from New York and Boston. We hit up someone small town venues. The prices were unbelievably cheap. I bought duck decoys for 5 bucks each, real Murano for 20, cloisonne pill box for 5, was given a set or spaghetti roly poly glasses because they felt funny and great variety of other smalls. I spent 400 including shipping and should realize around 12 to 15 hundred. You have got to go, no ifs, ands or buts.
@TheAntiqueNomad

I'm sorry you have that to deal with, but it's so great you got to get up there where the items are plentiful (and yes, cheap, people assume New England is expensive for antiques but it isn't always so). That's an amazing turn you'll get out of $400 bucks! I'm glad you went and good luck selling
