Yes, press F8 when Windows is booting or, what I did recently is use the Restore/Installation CD that comes with Windows (Dell computers often have restore CD's) l to run the installation and during installation select Repair

Thanks for your tutorial it worked great, but now I have run into a problem where when I try to type certain characters, something strange happens, like for example I try to type the number 2, and it pops up internet explorer but doesn't type the character. I had to attempt 3x of shutting down as it did not prompt the screen you mentioned. Interestingly, in the 3rd try, it prompted me to change my password. It worked! Thanks for the power shutdown suggestion.

I was wondering about this? because the windows bar at he bottom is gray.. is the computer in safe mode or something? how does one reverse?
