I have a pretty decent bar at my home but haven't been able to find a class or course that tailor's to the home bartender. Your series is exactly what I've been looking for, the down and dirty basics of mixology. Thank you so much for what you do.

Wouldn't this type of violent stirring with small amount of ice add a lot of air into the cocktail? Which is one of the things we're trying to avoid by stirring instead of shaking?

Ironically this just means Bond really asked for a really watery martini.
@pensandshakers2 жыл бұрын
@@lioraselby5328 True. But James Bond's go-to is actually a Vodka Martini that doesn't have the same gin flavors. And one of the things people who like Vodka Martinis want is for their drink to be REALLY cold. Shaking is the way to make a drink ice-cold.

so what you're saying is that James Bond is a pansy

I have a stupid question!! Why don't you use the ice you stir with in the actual drink? I understand it would make a mess to pour into the rock glass, but bar tongs? Is it wrong that I don't want to waste my beautiful clear ice?

How did you get to got your measurements right since not all parts were equal, but you poured the three bottles simultaneously?
