The fact that you make your own ladyfingers instead of buying them, like other chefs, is inspiring. Thank you for such a lovely recipe!

I made tiramisu by this recipe, and it came out not just as taste of Italy, but taste of Heaven... so deliciously light, not too sweet. The lemon zest and rum infusion made it absolutely flavourful! Thank you Bruno! Love your recipes!!! Thank you for sharing ❤️

Most flavorful Tiramisu I've had yet! It exceeded my expectations! I was originally worried about cutting the pound cake, but it is a firm cake recipe. I was also worried that the lemon zested espesso would be too strong...wrong again I was! Wow! Had it with some cappuccino, no need to go out and eat with these recipes! My wife works in a café and it felt great to treat her tonight with this! Thanks for the video again! I will follow you to the flames of the oven!

@artsynova I am from Italy and the traditional Tiramisu' is made with lady fingers ('savoiardi' in Italian), raw eggs, sugar, mascarpone cheese, espresso and Marsala (a liquerous wine). I use Rum instead than Marsala, as I cannot easily find it abroad. Said that, Bruno says at the end of the video that "he is not crazy about tiramisu' but this one...". He is basically saying this is his variant. ;)

No, the batter is baked into the "gold block" which is cut into three slices in this recipe. But you can use the same batter to make lady fingers. It's just the shape difference. I really want to try slicing, though, so I'm gonna make a block. "Gonna", because I have to get a hold of the mascarpone cheese and heavy cream first. Amen.

If you're doing this in a place warmer than 20C, I've got some tips for you: 1. Use a whipping cream with more additives so it doesn't split easily. Anchor has worked for me better than President. I learnt this the hard way. 2. Don't do the filling the way Bruno does. Whip your cream in a separate chilled bowl over an ice bath, so you don't waste your expensive cheese if your cream does split.

Hello everybody just served this cake to my Italian friends after a 100% Italian dinner. It was an absolute hit, so airy and light. I have to mention, since I had no time to make the sponge cake Bruno prepared, I used ready made savoiardi (aka ladyfingers for our English speaking friends), and the most decadent Italian thick cut lemon marmalade I could find (Casa Rinaldi). I had a cake that weighed about a kilo and what is left is about 150gr... Thank you Bruno! PS The recipe absolutely works!

@RokiMowntinHi6 жыл бұрын
leyanis ortiz -. They may cook up like scrambled eggs, or just a bit chunky, which would be a terrible texture for tiramisu! So, you’d want to first gently warm the eggs & sugar in a double boiler. I’m doing the following instructions, using a stainless steel bowl over a pot of slightly boiling water (because I don’t have a double boiler!): “Combine egg yolks and sugar on top of a double boiler over low heat. Beat the egg yolks and sugar constantly, until the mixture is creamy, thick, and heated through, 10 min. Remove the mixture from the heat.” Then add marscapone, etc, etc...

Raw eggs aren't dangerous unless you live in a third world country or something.
@user-180-mand906 жыл бұрын
Cultures use raw eggs in their cuisine all the time. The only country that refrigerates and has an unhealthy fear of their food & eggs is the US. Guess who has by far the unhealthiest / unnatural diet as well? Alanis Morissette once said...
@fuzzyscarfandmittens47726 жыл бұрын
Raw eggs aren't inherently dangerous. The bacteria lives on the shell, not in the egg. If this is a concern, wash them first. Or do what I do, get a spray bottle with 50% bleach and 50% water and spray the eggs with that. Rinse them off and you don't have to worry about anything. The solution is also great for cleaning and disinfecting plastic cutting boards.
@valentinfunk2026 жыл бұрын
you can get pasteurized eggs or do it yourself, just cook them for 75 minutes at 57°C(max. 58° ) to kill all salmonella. You might need to whip it a bit longer. There are salmonella in 1/20 000 eggs and if the egg is very fresh there likely won't be enough in it to make you very sick. It can be very problematic for people with a weak immune system such as children, elderly or pregnant women
