This might have helped, a bit. The correct way to eliminate the problem, most videos won’t tell. If you have a more aggressive offset, this won’t be enough. BMW has a sponge strip on the inner lining then they spray the undercoat on top. You have to remove the undercoat and sponge strip in order to bend the inner fender further inwards. That will take time and effort. Plus you can install a negative camber kit to help. Better yet is to have a coil over to raise the car a bit if necessary, yet still keeping a good looking stance.

My tires are rubbing to the inner wheel well pastic cover. Do you have a suggestion to fix the problem? My mechanic is suggesting to remove/trim the plastic
@StevenBTunerАй бұрын
Hi, I used a section out of a old wheel well liner in order to extend the existing one a bit so that it still reaches. If you jist cut the existing one then you will catch a lot of mud that will cause rust over time.

I know your video is 5 yrs ago but I hope you'll manage to read my message i am a first time driver and having interest on modifying my car im a beginner so you know how st00pid I can be so the first time I bought for my car is tires the stock tires are size 195/55 and I bought 195/65 and then when I got a budget I lower my car to a 1 finger gap height then I begin to here those sound like the one on your vid and the mechanic tell me its not there fault its my choice of height and my choice of tire size and if I want to have them fender roll I need to pay them because thats a different work so ofcourse my cheapskate ahh said aight im good with it so heres my question to you coz obviously im just a broke car enthusiast without the device you use to fix your problem but does buying a smaller tires will fix my problem? I dont want to fender roll my car and i like the low height of it i just want to get rid of the rubbing sound so my question is does buying a smaller size tires fix the proble? Its rubbing i just dont know if it is outside or outside of the fender
@StevenBTuner3 ай бұрын
Hi, the sound is the tire hitting the inner protective layer, so you don't want to wear it away completely or you end up with mud and salt and stuff getting in and rusting your car. Putting on he standard tire sizes again should stop the rubbing, as long as you are running the standard wheel sizes that the car came with.

I have this problem with my front 20 inch wheels 2014 Hyundai sonata ..if I rolled fenders what about my inner wheel fender cover ? Could I remove them or are covers to to prevent water and debris from getting up inside engine area
@StevenBTuner4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! I didn't address that issue in the video, but what I did is get hold of an old inner liner, cut out part of it, and then riveted and glued it to the existing liner so that it was wide enough to reach. It is a bit of a hassle, but I think it is worth it to keep the noise down and the salt and other road gunk out. All the best in doing something similar for your car.

@StevenBTuner4 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching! You should be able to get a bit more clearance using this method, but it is not without risks. There is a chance of cracking your paint, or any old body filler that you didn't even know about. You will also need to treat the inside of the steel with some new anti-rust coating, as well as modify the sound-deadening inner lining so that it still reaches the full width it needs to. So, quite a lot of work, but could be well worth it!

Hi, it worked enough to get the 265s under there, so it gave me the extra 10mm that I needed to stop the rubbing. Unfortunately I didn't catch it quick enough, so the inner sound guard needed a bit of surgery to put back together.

@StevenBTuner3 жыл бұрын
@@syleuva310 I'm never a fan of things rubbing where they're not supposed to - so it is a good idea to find out where the rubbing is occurring so that you can keep an eye on it. A common thing to happen is for the inner lining to wear through, which can then catch salty grit if you live in a cold region where they salt the roads.
