@@jonasstrzyz2469 multiple people have had firearms that have been damaged or broken that have resulted in them firing more than one round with each trigger pull. And the ATF has gone as far as seizing these weapons and charging their owners with manufacturing un registered machineguns. There was one particular case 2010/2011 sometime where a mans ar15 double tapped. The range owner called police. He was arrested. The ATF field office had to modify the gun and load ammo with extremely sensitive primers, in order to replicate the malfunction (which came out in the court arguments). Some right obscure rimfire cals were used that dont exist today. They were usually single shot break action rifles used in England for shooting young crows or Rooks from tall trees during May when the young rooks would be sitting on limbs outside their nests. The English used to eat them in "Rook pies" as the young rooks were pretty tender . Many bespoke gun companies like Holland&Holland and Greener made these little guns and they are an interesting subject of English guns in themselves.

Had the company survived, i could see them moving up to 380 ACP and 9mm. They might have created an entire class of light, fun sporting rifle, if circumstances had been different (like if WW1 had not happened). I can't help but compare this to the M1 Carbine of 30 years later. And yes, an easy way to strip and clean it. Of course, everybody was thinking of rifles that could be employed in platoon volleys at a thousand meters, so I doubt they'd get their foot in the door...but perhaps a lost opportunity.

Even in .32 ACP this could have been a surprisingly handy trench gun for WW1. It's light, short and semi-auto which would have made it infinitely more practical than a Lebel in a trench raid, especially when you consider France was already issuing .32 ACP pistols to officers. Scale it up to 9mm and standardize on a Luger mag well and you would have a highly effective system, especially when paired with a Luger drum mag. I will put reliability aside since I don't know if the gun's performance in the range segment was par for the model, or just the particular gun being old.

Damn! I think I just saw one like that at my grandfather's house many years ago! It was in a serious state of disrepair, though. I have to go take a look at it.

That full auto rate of fire is impressive, I am wondering if that feature can make it a 'submachine gun' before MP18

Best functioning removable spring magazine I have ever seen... fed .32acp at 800/minute just fine

Cute, surprisingly quiet little rifle, except for the oopsie and other function issues...

I have a 32 barrel insert for my 410singleshot an it's my favorite ammo to shoot out of it it's so quiet.

I'd be down to buy a modern remake of that rifle. The only real change it needs is a more positive surface for charging.
