These same people had a bad reputation from other games. They were guilty of exploiting pre-a2 testing. They ruined Resna in p1. Zero surprise they are doing it again. They are fkin around and they are about to find out what Steven is about. I like to consider it as them testing the devs 😂

ive seen a few of the vids showing certain guilds performing actions that steven has said should not be done and actions that seem like exploits. Steven has been sent those vids, so he has those, and like you mentioned, all the data that intrepid has access to. if there is proof of exploiting, and nothing happens to those who did it, people will lose faith in the game and Steven.

How about setting the cool down by guild size and damage done vs guild size and damage done. IE, a large high level sweaty guild ganks a low level mom and pop guild, they get a long time out.

Bunch of nobody's claiming exploits because they have no clue how a system works. Wardecs are used to avoid corruption they force flag everyone in the two guilds against each other. The rewards for Wardecs has been long turned off yet they still Wardec, why so they can contest world bosses and PoI's without dealing with the corruption system, the intention of Wardec's. See... I'm just a simpleton I don't go looking for exploits 1) because I'm not smart enough. 2) I just want to help add whatever opinions, perspectives, and / or constructive criticisms. Guilds were probably exploiting this bug on Lyneth as well or they couldve been "reenacting" the bug to do a bug report but still reap the benefits. Either way vyra shouldn't be the only server looked at

The other potential exploit with the Guild vs Guild wars is if player(s) on a guild make a second account / guild to spam attack their main account's guild to power level their main account through the reward structure. Obviously Intrepid will see in their logs that Guild B has been repeatedly declaring war on Guild A as soon as a GVG war has concluded and thus flag BOTH Guild A and Guild B for account actions. It does however suck if innocent players get actioned through the fallout. Say John had just been recruited to Guild A and participated in a few guild wars but had no idea and nothing to do with someone else in the guild using the exploit to have Guild B repeatedly declare war on Guild A. Being only 6 days into this phase I wonder if Intrepid will action the most flagrant accounts and then reset the realms or roll them back to the earliest exploit time. Afterall it may be impossible to undo all the consequences of the exploiters actions.

Depending on the log, the illgained experience and equipment should be taken back. I also believe the character should be reset to 1. If a second round of exploits occurs, then the entire account needs to be banned.

I'll say what i always say on this topic. There's a difference between finding and testing an explout vs turning it into a farm. When you have someone putting out a video where they show off an exploit and say "this is how i went from 11-20 in a day" then you should know that goes FAR beyond testing it...

I think Duel Weapon Proc is also a glitch not sure why no one ever talks about it most of the AoC Vets have told me its suppose to work like that I sent in a bug report because it was almost doubling my DPS Also one of the Tank skills did 10,000% damage reflect and could one shot most the mobs in the game After i reported what i found the server dropped and was immediately patched. Everyone pretends like it never happened and I'm wondering if maybe I just went crazy again. 🤔

Intrepid has warned many times about exploiting and that there will be harsh and relentless consequences. The worst thing they could do, is not following through with it. They know that. The players don't leave them any other options. I am sure there will be many account resets and for repeaters it will end in account ban.

I've played games where the company stance was that it was stupid for a company to punish a player that found an exploit...it was on the company to fix it. I've also played games where games have said "if you do this you will be banned" I think either response is reasonable as long as the player base knows it and knows the stakes. The players have known about not mob exploiting for a month now.

All they have to do is make it where the other guild leaders must agree to these side type wars. There is already open world PVP - Node Sieges - etc... Guilds being able to just do a Lumber Jack War and it auto flags your guild and your PK'ed over and over.. Ya bad system.. yes I know they can still exploit this but would be more obvious. IMO there are many options for pvp and open world pvp already. A Guild just should not be able to random war another guild (Side type way like these that is) and it auto engage without consent from the other guild leader

yeah I think a good three stikes system is the way to go unless the person is just braizenly being a problem if its a frist offence a warning and your toys removed and a simple "dont do it again" with the first strike, a second warning and toy removed again maybe with some biger penaltys on characters soemhow or cant play for a month etc. for a second offence, then if your repeatedly abusing exploits a third time just drop the big old ban hammer ip ban mac ban card block etc. I do think some leway should be given as its possible soemone could be unwitingly entering into the exploit without realising e.g. they ask their guild and they say go nuts and more or less con soemone into taking part or they are not wise enough to realise its an exploit, that said there is a point when you cant claim to be just a silly little guy and need to take responsibility intrepid seem to be very reliable and fair so if its just soemthing you are unsure on then post a bug report and wait for clarificiation

@isth3reno1else I am confused. So what's the difference? Mobs glitch anyway all the time. I can't count numbers of Gravehide Flyer just being stuck in the wall. What should I do? Leave it with 10% hp because they can't fix it? Also grems hitting you from 20 meters when you try to kite them. Elevation is there, accessible, sometimes with simple ledge grab. It's like putting steak next to the dog and blaming the dog that he ate it. Psycho behaviour. It's not like those spots just generated by themselves. It's not Minecraft. They were put there deliberately by devs. I still don't know how do I tell if that's using game mechanics or exploiting, because all those features are put there by devs. Can I use my skills or mounts? Can I use Cleric, because I grind 3 times faster than any other solo class? Should I jump-kite mobs? What's the difference if everything is just in the game here to use?

It was outlined in phase one to not use elevation on mobs in citadel and carphin and things like glitching into a wall to not be hit is also exploiting. This isn't random npc occurrences that happen that you're mentioning for a small percentage of your xp...this is exploiting a mechanic for almost all of your xp.

That would be absolutely bullshit. It's an alpha test environment You paid the company for the privilege of testing the game. A few find bugs and broken things with the game. One reports them to keep doing them if you want nothing in this Alpha should affect the full release other than fixing the issues and that's on intrepid to fix the issues

This one is far more grey than the dupes.... It really isn't an exploit... It's using the game mechanic in a min/max way... but if they leave it, then it compromises the testing phase. When testing something, if you put garbage data in, then garbage data will come out. Intrepid has a tough decision to make.

The guild war stuff absolutely. I think a lot of the wars are legitimate and to me those are fine. It's clear that some are fighting fake guilds for rewards so hopefully an adjustment to the reward structure and a removal of the rewards for those wars happens. I'd also look at wars involving any players that exploited for levels and gear but that's me. Those are all case by case for sure. The carphin tower and citadel stuff seems black and white to me

Wait so in the alpha testing of a game people are mad at exploiters??? I mean sure it's annoying if they get an advantage of you, but it's an alpha. None of this is permanent. You want people to break the game as often and as much as possible so that it's fixed on release. If intrepid has such a problem with it, they should fix the exploits faster.

It's better for the developers long term if the game environment exists like the game would. That's why when people find a bug they want it reported, not exploited and abused. Some of these are obviously grey area ones with nuance(like guild wars), and some are cut and dry. I definitely understand what you're saying but the players that have signed up for this understand that these types of things should not be exploited in the test environment. Find them out, report them and move on.

I hope intrepid can find a good solution without this dragging them down too much. (INB4 someone calls me an exploiter; I'm not paying money to alpha test a game) I do hope ashes can release and be a really good game. I enjoy your and Nyce's content a lot!

Not saying everyone of them cheated, but it makes the search pool much smaller. And anyone with half a brain should have known that.

full wipe? you kidding me? you want to lose most of your testers? because that's how you lose more testers. Legit players have been burning out on the first few days b/c that's just the nature of it if your competitive. people are burnt out and wont be doing that again any time soon. i know everything is temporary but if you frequently wipe the servers after only 1-2 weeks, the testers wont care as much and the progression of a testing server wont give the developers a close indication what it would be like for the release day servers.

Unpopular opinion, but since this is testing, they need to keep the exploiters around to keep finding exploits. There are ways to punish players other than BAN. The more problems caught during testing the better.

A lot of people on the server and not enough new toys to try. No new profession trees, no class rebalances, no new weapons. Big sad. Ive been sick for the last few weeks and didnt feel like playing, but i dont feel like I missed much.

I honestly think they are taking the worst approach and this to me signals the game has no serious intention of being fully released. If this was truly an Alpha they would be identifying and praising bugs and exploits being found. So that they can fix them before release. Discouraging and banning players during an alpha is insane. This needs to be treated as an alpha not a released game. Punishing players for finding bugs is just silly. It means this is a "released" game and this is as far as its going to go. What do you think happens when the game is fully released and the bugs and exploits aren't caught? With a full launch they wont be able to ban everyone, so its better to fix the issues in alpha. That said, people that are just repeatedly exploiting and not reporting should be timed out and progress reset, as they are not helping.

@@thadude3 If I found a bug in a level 5 goblin that gave 1 million xp...if I did it once and found it, then did it twice to confirm and report that's one thing. If I found it, said nothing to Intrepid...and then wrote a detailed guide to my guild on how to exploit a level 5 goblin to get to max level ASAP that would be completely different.

Intrepid is generating a massive aggregate of data that they can use to fix their game or they can be shitty about it. Like sure it's annoying if a guild has. You know 300 people and they're all max level in the first week because they found an exploit but that's on intrepid to fix. They should be able to pay attention to that. Literally everyone that's playing the game is a tester. You're not playing a game
